Just picked up this rather fun yet devilishly tricky puzzle book by @ghostwoods.bsky.social and my mate @hellbornhero.bsky.social - it’s rather neat, I’m enjoying it a lot!

Oh, if you needed any other evidence of my lunacy, I've also started a playthrough of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. It seems to be going down pretty well as something relaxing to doze off to, which delights me. It's here, if you're sleepless / bored / curious: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfL_...

It's time to raze existence. It's time to banish light. It's time to call the void in, on the Muppet Show tonight.

Tim once advised me to be less self-deprecating, and while I'm working on it, I still have to do so through gritted teeth. Thanks to his unparalleled guidance, I'm actually pretty blood good at this now. -Sound of a molar audibly cracking- I would love to write for you, especially TTRPG stuff!

This book is out in seven days and I am profoundly excited! I can't thank Tim enough for the opportunity, help, and the exceedingly kind words. We were digging up obscure lore and production trivia just for the joy of it while writing, and I'm certain that enthusiasm shines through in the book.

Just because something's true doesn't mean you have to say it

Oooh, blood altar please

Astrophysicists theorize that 85% of the day is spent doing “dark work” which cannot be directly measured but is implied by how tired I feel

My second favourite phrase about daydreaming is the Greek τρεις λαλούν και δυο χορεύουν. It means “(in their head) three are singing and two are dancing”   And my favourite idiom for daydreaming is the Mexican pensando en la inmortalidad del cangrejo. It means “pondering the immortality of the crab”

One of the many German words for a supermarket checkout divider is Warentrennstab, which means “the stick separating the wares”   And in German-speaking parts of Switzerland, a colloquial name for the triangular checkout divider is Kassentoblerone, or “cash register Toblerone”

Hell of a thread!

Noooo! RIP Vernor Vinge, a sci-fi legend, one of the best to ever do it, much like Ted Chiang didn’t write huge amounts, but everything he did was at the highest level, True Names was the first real representation of cyberspace, even if he didn’t come up with the snappy name.

I always laugh at this until I cry. 🤣🤣🤣 This time is no exception.

Similar to trying to read a recipe you find on the internet.

not one more step

Nice AI you got there, Amazon.

french bakers 🤝 the cenobites "do you want some pain?"

It’s OK Lenny you don’t need to get up. I wouldn’t

Ancient Mesoamerican cultures were undefeated at having ceramic vessels that were also just a little guy

Monday Mood

Yes

Fair Warning, by @hellbornhero.bsky.social.

Free MIRRORSHADES! Weirdly this epic cyberpunk antho doesn't exist as an ebook. So we turned it into a free online webpage. Happy reading, and may ye wax gnarly and punk and dirty and ecstatic and intricate and all that good shit. Happy cybermonday. rudyrucker.com/mirrorshades/

everyone automatically clacks these twice upon picking them up because deep down we all know we’re crabs

Great advice.
