Any #indiedev folks out there using Monday Dev to track your projects? How do you handle dependencies? It seems a little crazy that you need to pay for that functionality on top of the standard tier?

I am calling this early. Chance are I am moving in the next 2-3 weeks down to Kyoto so there may not be a dispatch for a few weeks. I will try, but I just don't know if I can make it happen. I also might be busy playing Astral Throne. That game looks so damn rad!

Great company, and a super good role that is hard to come by. Definitely encourage anyone I know who fits the bill to apply!

Picking up your MacBook in the cold light of morning is an exercise of narrowly avoiding frostbite.

I feel like this game has big @patrickklepek.bsky.social energy. Maybe even @gameonysus.bsky.social energy.

Looking for a house and the #1 concern when the find out I’m a foreigner is “can he sort the trash?”. Also had a house refuse to even discuss because we are foreigners. These are the parts of living here I don’t enjoy…

Any Bear note users out there who found a good replacement that was cross-platform? I love its nested tag sorting system and it just gets out of my way. Obsidian always sends me down crazy rabbit holes to build a system and I get little work done.

New Indie Release Dispatch is here with some great indie games to stop you doom scrolling this weekend. www.pxls.jp/gun-jams-fli... Shout out to @glassbottommeg.bsky.social who put HOLE on @hellerphant.pxls.jp's radar. Some great looking games this week.

Absolutely stoked to say I’m back in game dev! Just landed a production role at a studio, and I couldn’t be happier! Might have to celebrate with some Nesquik that a friend sent over a few weeks ago.

This is another "indie hyper focuses to make a super cheap $5 deep but brief dive on one specific thing" and I'm so excited

I have reassembled myself from a slime puddle for launch day! 🥳 There's lot's to process from the reviews, and I really appreciate both the praise and criticism too. It's hard to compete with people's relationship with Citizen Sleeper, and so I never set out to do that.

WAKE UP SLEEPER! It's a big weekend of indie games! This weekend we have Citizen Sleeper 2, The Headliners, Eternal Strand, Kiosk, and Whispers of the Eyeless. www.pxls.jp/cults-sleepe...

Another shot while cleaning up my photos. This was down in Osaka with my Leica M6, on Fuji Industrial 100. I don't know why, bit I always think of Sunny Day Real Estate when I see this one.

We are doing a Game Club playthrough of Citizen Sleeper on the @pxls.jp Discord. I rarely play games through a second time, but I am SO glad that I did this time. The nuance on display from @jumpovertheage.com is just so beautifully written.

Going through all my photography, cleaning up the years of random files. I always liked this shot. Nothing standout, but the lonely umbrella person reminds me of how isolated I felt working a late night shift in Tokyo when I snapped it from my office window. Itching to get out for some shooting!

Another week, another Indie Release Dispatch! We have legally distinct Kiki, some cozy city builders, some defense-based RTS, and more! www.pxls.jp/legally-dist...

I fully appreciate that 90% of "gamers" out there won't want to mess with a Steam Deck. They want the brand, the ease of use, and the trust of Nintendo. But looking at my own use case, there needs to be a library that demands my money here, because this won't be my indie machine this time round.

MY GAME STUDIO IS HIRING! We secured additional funding for our multiplayer PC strategy game and have openings for Lead Character Artist, Senior Animator, Senior Tools Engineer, and Senior AI Engineer (not ML/GenAI). Please retweet, ping friends, & tell all!!

Yeah, it's cool that the Switch 2 is a thing, but we've got indies to play! www.pxls.jp/dna-detectiv... Some pretty good looking games on the lineup this week. Plus we are doing a Citizen Sleeper Game Club on our Discord, and @blu.pxls.jp shares one of his favourite AGDQ videos.

Seems like a bit of an overreaction, no?

A new written series of conversations between @blu.pxls.jp and @hellerphant.pxls.jp begin today! www.pxls.jp/the-joy-of-h... We talk about finding hidden gems, chasing the dopamine rush of new game purchases, and try to examine why we hoard games, or when we choose to go deep.

Got out of Tokyo for an afternoon. Loaded up a roll of Tri-X 400 and shot some random photos. Life is hard sometimes. Make time got the things that bring you joy.

Happy 2025 everyone! Here's our first #IndieReleaseDispatch for the year! www.pxls.jp/finnish-road... S4U is 100% our jam. My Summer Car looks unhinged for people who are chasing those vibes. The Last Flame looks so much like a @blu.pxls.jp game. Some good ones this week.

silo is a funny show because if i lived in a dystopia consisting of 10,000 people living on 144 floors of a silo separated by stairs i wouldn't be interested in murder mystery or the world outside i'd be complaining oooauughhhh another day of stairs i hate the founders so much this is so many stairs

So I booted up Inkbound by @shinyshoegames.bsky.social today for the first time, and I’m surprised I didn’t hear more people talking about this one in my circles. I liked Monster Train but this game has so much character and heart, and it’s a blast to play! youtu.be/RYqS4gKisbI?...
