Eleven years ago at the Echo in Los Angeles from my mic on the left side of the stage, playing with Mark Mulcahy. A special thanks to the inventor of the disco ball.

My next set on wrkc.kings.edu features three songs that are new in my life this week @thearmoires.bsky.social - We Absolutely Mean It @cubancowboys.bsky.social - Leah Said @elephantsandstars.bsky.social - Paint me Alive

Dream: Nov 30, 2001 I was in a restaurant booth with Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, George Harrison, and John Lennon. A guitar was passed around. It skipped me, phew, and went to Art. He played Bridge Over Troubled Water while Paul sang. It was beautiful. I couldn't believe it was happening. But it was.

The last four songs of the Police's final album, Synchronicity, are like a sonic road map that leads directly to Sting's solo career: King of Pain, Wrapped Around Your Fingers, Tea in the Sahara, Murder By Numbers getting smoother and jazzier as they go, dozing off and dreaming of turtles.

The Jam, Police, Rayland Baxter, Kim Deal, Soft Covers, Marty Robbins, Lemon Twigs, Neil Young, REM, Waterboys, Kate Bush, MJ Lenderman, Horsegirl and more in 25 Songs for this Week. We still have music! (apple link in thread): open.spotify.com/playlist/7fy...

I had a real nice time last night doing a live stream concert. Here's the home-game version, a playlist of all the songs I played (minus those not-yet-released) for your listening displeasure. (apple link in thread). Thanks! open.spotify.com/playlist/7HL...

I'm going live at 7:30 tonight (Thursday Feb 20). Stop by if you'd like! Please pass it on. henningohlenbusch.bandcamp.com/merch/hennin...

This is happening tonight. I'm really looking forward to sitting down for an extended period of time and just playing music. I've a possible list of songs, but I most enjoy trying to get through the unexpected requests that sometimes pop up in the chat window. If you're around, stop by. Free.

To dream, to explore worlds, universes without our laws of physics, new colors and sounds, to soar above shifting landscapes, to visit the past, the future, to transform into animal shapes, or as my brain chose last night, to sadly notice a hole in the toe of my recently purchased socks.

Rayland Baxter is really good at writing bridges youtu.be/AaXCx6CftFs?...

You gotta play often Or your callouses soften

Do you have a Bandcamp account? It's free to get one. Anyway, if you do, maybe stop by Thursday evening to my live stream. It's also free. If you RSVP here, you'll be notified of any changes should they occur. Cheers! henningohlenbusch.bandcamp.com/merch/hennin...

Just announced: I'm doing a free live stream thingy on Bandcamp Thursday. Haven't done one since September. Huh. It's almost as though time keeps passing no matter what we do. Maybe you'll stop by and hang out for a bit. RSVP at the link below to stay in the loop if anything changes. Thanks!

Shameful plug: Last year I made 200 morning walk videos. Peaceful, pretty, relaxing, goofy, thoughtful little vignettes. Originally on TikTok, I just uploaded them to YouTube. I'll start walking again soon. I'd be so happy if you subscribed to my channel, it's got music videos and other stuff.

If you're in the Boston area you might enjoy checking this out. V66 was a great phenomena, the documentary is great and I'm not just saying that because my music is in it.

We try to always put our lyrics and chords up online for anyone who might be interested in playing a song and also just for our future selves for when we forget how they go.

There was a village with no crime. Everyone left their doors unlocked. One day, a thief arrive and stole from the people. The thief left town feeling smarter than the people. But the thief was not smarter. The thief was just a thief.

Are all youngest children bad with plants when they grow up?

My first guitar was a broken old Stella. It only had the three highest strings. They were a half inch off the fret board. I played it constantly. Learned all the chords on the three strings. Wrote a bunch of songs. Skin peeled off my finger tips. When I got a proper guitar I had to relearn it all.

Slowdive did a nice tribute to Syd Barrett. A sparse version of Golden Hair followed by a long instrumental freak out with this ghostly projection staring at us all.

Floyd The Stones Zeppelin The 'Mats I started making a list of bands who have nicknames but I only got these four before I didn't instantly think of more and stopped. I'm not including ones who use abbreviations like CCR, TMBG, CSNY, ELP etc. Or last names like Bowie instead of David Bowie

Slowdive, Courtney Barnett, Floyd, Will Worden, Peel Dream Magazine, Soft Boys, Blur, Frank Black, Randy Newman, Hugo Largo, XTC, Bird Calls and more in 25 Songs for this Week. Have a good week! (apple link in thread): open.spotify.com/playlist/7fy...

Please enjoy this photo I took yesterday.

I'm not going to write last night's dream in my dream journal because I don't want to remember it.

Today, Bandcamp is donating all of their proceeds to MusiCares to assist those impacted by the recent wildfires in Southern California.

Incandescent Zeppelin had a warmer sound.

I don’t have children. Is it cultural appropriation to make dad jokes?
