February 2025 11) Everyone on this Train is a Suspect by Benjamin Stevenson ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 This was a pretty good follow up to the first book. I am not a fan of whodunnits but when they are tongue in cheek I can enjoy it a bit more. #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

Next Up: The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin Highly recommended book on booktok. Loved her short story in Out There Screaming. This has been on my tbr for far too long and I need to remedy that. She has too many interesting books for me to be sitting at the starting line #booksky 💙📚 #books #reading

February 2025 10) Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Just a fantastic story. Even though it was predictable at times I did not see that ending coming! Cannot wait to read the next book in the series. #booksky 💙📚 #books #reading

Next Up: Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi Don’t know too much about this one. It was talked about on Booktok a fair bit last year. I liked the sound of it so i added it to my tbr and now I’m getting into it. #booksky 💙📚 #books #reading

February 2025 9) Frankenstein in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadawi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book was well worth the read and I’m glad I chose it for this months challenge. It gave me a whole new perspective on war torn Iraq in the 00’s. #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

February 2025 8) A Ruin of Shadows by L.D. Lewis ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 Bored at work thought I’d shoot through a short story from an author id read previously and holy cow do I want more. I want a prequel, I want a sequel. This was an amazing short story! #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

February 2025 7) The Woman in Me by Britney Spears ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 This was better than I imagined. The bit when she was in the hospital toward the end and people started supporting the end of her conservatorship really got to me. An interesting if not tragic tale. #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

Next Up: Frankenstein in Baghdad This is a challenge book from my library to read “A book with the name of a city in its title”. I chose this book as I have had the desire to read authors from other countries and ethnicities. #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

February 2025 6) Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a fabulous sequel to the already fantastic Legendborn. Love the magic system. Such a dark heartbreaking story. Cannot wait for the third book to come out! #booksky 💙📚 #books #reading

February 2025 5) The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a selection by my brother for the family book club. I found it to be very enjoyable. Even though I had my guesses it was still unclear up to the end who the villain might be. #booksky 💙📚 #books #reading

Next Up: Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn This is the second book in the Legendborn series. I absolutely loved the first book and am looking forward to its sequel. Can’t wait for the third one to release soon! #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

February 2025 4) Out There Screaming edited by Jordan Peele ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is an anthology of horror stories written by black authors. There is not a bad story in the book. Some authors I knew others I have read for the first time but not the last time! #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

February 2025 3) The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a fun story of not much substance with a very interesting premise. The constant role twists and name changes were a bit on the absurd side but fun nonetheless #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

Hey #booksky 📚💙 im looking to add people to my Storygraph friends so if you are interested in being book friends add me: heralatus

Next Up: Out There Screaming edited by Jordan Peele This is an anthology book of short horror stories written by black authors. It has an amazing list of authors and when I found out about it I absolutely had to get it. #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

February 2025 2) Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a truly powerful book that explores the very real problems with the American justice system in a fictional setting. All of the characters break your heart. This is a must read. #booksky 📚💙 #books #reading

February 2025 1. West Wind by Mary Oliver ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 This is probably the first book of poetry I’ve ever read of my own volition. Thanks to #Storygraph for the challenge prompt. I enjoyed reading poetry and may do so again in the future #booksky 💙📚 #books #reading
