Day 116 - #retrorandom - One of my very first retro purchases back in 2016 - I'd been listing after an Atari 800 since I saw one in a shop window back in 1982. I think they're gorgeous and such solid machines ... 1/2

Day 115 - #retrorandom - It's 2020 and I found out what's inside my Sanyo PHC-10. The answer is not a lot! Two of the three chips are purely to control the LCD display. Then there's some sort of microcontroller and a ROM. That's it ... 1/2

There's a tiny clip of this that I just love watching again and again and again. Watch the video - you'll know which bit it is!

Day 114 - #retrorandom - It's 2020 and it's a chaos of computers (or a mess of micros). This is from those far off days when most of my collection would still fit on a bookshelf. I can't even bring myself to count how many bookshelves it's on now ... :)

I hadn't previously thought of it like that ... but yes! Go Dragon! 😄

Day 113 - #retrorandom - I'm trying to work out what to take to 2024's 'Festival of Portable Computing' in Cambridge. In the end I couldn't decide, allocated myself an extra table (being organiser has the occasional advantage) and just took the lot!

Day 112 - #retrorandom - So, which Radio Shack cassette players did you have? I definitely don't collect cassette players, yet somehow still seem to have hundreds. Often you'll find one in a box with something else you've bought ... 1/2

This machine definitely went to the right home. Well done!

Day 110 - #retrorandom - Maybe it's time to admit to myself I DO collect calculators. I just couldn't resist this gorgeous little ANITA 810 back in 2021. I always presumed these were European, but actually they're British ... 1/3

Day 109 - #retrorandom - What's the first thing you think when you see VTech's little Laser 200? That it would be much better with floppy disks? Or is that just me? 😄 1/2

Day 108 - #retrorandom - It's 2022 and I just got a new monitor in the post and it works! I love the little Philips 'Computer Monitor 80' and I currently have the set (amber, green and white) ... 1/2

Day 107 - #retrorandom - It's 2018 and I'm messing around with my TRS-80 MC-10, trying to make an image to promote an upcoming quiz night at the museum in Cambridge. I thought it looked gorgeous when paired with this little JVC TV ... 1/2

A wise man once said "when you assume, you make an ass out of you and me". An even wiser man said "always check the power to the chips first". I plugged in my Philips P2000 and the power LED didn't come on ... 1/5

We're sensing a train theme among our exhibitors at RetroFest.uk (appropriately given the venue!)

Day 106 - #retrorandom - One of the first things we all do when we get a new machine is to enter the classic BASIC program: . 10 PRINT "HELLO" 20 GOTO 10 . And my lovely new HP-85 was no exception ... but I wasn't expecting what happened next! 1/3

A lot of memories wrapped up in this website. Which one best shows off where you first got on the web? pspb.chrisrcook.com

Day 106 - #retrorandom - It's a pile of Cocos! It's 2022 and I'm doing some testing ahead of that year's festival in Cambridge. On top is the Prologica CP400, a 64K Coco clone. Underneath is a Coco 3, the ultimate Coco! And finally, down the bottom is a Coco 2 ... 1/2
