The most Michigan thing I've seen this winter season is a gentleman running shirtless in our neighborhood in 32F weather. He had his dog, on a leash, running with him. YAY!

AHHHH *breathe* AHHHHH! Today is a high of 50! First time since November 2024 I left the house WITHOUT EAR MUFFS OR GLOVES. The snow is melting! The dog doesn't need her boots! It is sunny out! AHHHHHHH! ☀️ (It's supposed to be shit next week so let me have this.)

One of my clients uses Roundcube as their email host, & IT IS FUCKING TERRIBLE. Why offered by the web host is beyond the pale. Email accounts have little control over their account. Ex: To turn off auto-responder, account holder must do it in the cPanel, not in that email account's settings.

Jason Isaacs has aged very well. #TheWhiteLotus

Mr. Lisa and I are doing a podcast called "When Grumpy Meets Sunshine" where we read a romance novel and discuss it. Don't know when the first episode will drop but today we set up the podcasting equipment. Here is a rough cut of what we sound like! www.lisarabey.com/wp-content/u...

I recently got a "well, actually" and a "if you want to be pedantic" because I corrected someone on an Austen fact. I told him, because it's almost always a him, thanks for the "well, actually." Fuckers.

While there is daylight, there is no direct sun so why the pictures look a bit dark. As of Friday, we’re up to 114” of snow. Our plow guy was here this morning when we left to take Thursday out for her morning constinutional so I wanted to get pics of a before and after he plows. 10” this weekend.

You know the rule, I only drink it if it's pretty!

I am knee deep in snow but I need these in my life. www.drmartens.com/us/en/zebzag...

Why can't it ever be OK for an older woman to end up with a younger man? Don't get me wrong, Chiwetel Ejiofor is a very handsome and age-appropriate man, but damn. Leo Woodall and his pies.

Hugh Grant and Colin Firth have aged wonderfully. (Also, while Mr. Lisa HAS seen the first three Bridget Jones' movies and he keeps asking for clarification on the backstory. He's harshing my buzz, man.)

I'm chilled enough on THC, made no-bakes (Midwest best), and watching Bridget Jones: Mad About a Boy, and I'm delirious with joy.

One of the villages I work in has a yearly Yeti Fest and the library participates. We have crafts, activities, snacks, and scavenger hunt for the kids. This year’s prize is a stuffed yeti. We had extra so I bought home Bumble to hang out at my desk. (This place is cozy as fuck.) #PureMichigan

PSA: in addition to being a librarian, I am a Justice of the Peace in #Vermont. If you need or want to get married, I can get you married the same day you get here. Do a ceremony or just paperwork, up to you. LGBTQ+ folx, you especially. Free (or will accept chocolate). 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💗 vermontjp.tumblr.com

Describe yourself using 5 things that are probably in your purse/backpack at any given moment: 1. Lip balm 2. Hand lotion 3. Pentel RSVP pen in fine point blue 4. Cloth to clean my glasses 5. Wallet

I have a first draft of a story (8k-12k words) due by March 8 and a polished story (2k - 8k words) due by March 31. I've, of course, known about both of these for months. Today a friend and I did two 30 minute writing sprints and I got nearly 1100 words one on the former. Thank fuck. #WriterSky

The native Reminders app on MacOS and iOS has lost my love. Does anyone have a recommendation for a simple reminder app similar to Reminders that WILL sync across macOS and iOS? (And not crazy expensive.) (I just need to add a reminder and check it off. I don't need anything fancy.)

Chapter 2 of "But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes" ends with this, "And now I can write my book without my identity being sunk by having the name of a husband to crush me." This was written 97 years ago. A fucking century later, we are still fighting for the right to be heard and to have agency.

Diving into "But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes" feels like sipping a vintage wine—smooth, refreshing, and delightfully sharp. Its wit dances through time, reminding me that great humor is timeless. Cheers to literary gems! #BookSky

In this issue of AMUN, I chat about seeing my five year old nephew play basketball, what it's like living in a rural area, update on Nerd Girl Industries. My Wonderful thing is Jazz Age author, Anita Loos. https://buff.ly/4jUDPs2 #WriterSky #BreadSky

I just started reading “But Gentlemen Marry Brunettes” by Anita Loos. The book was published in 1927, but the physical copy I got from ILL is from 1928. The language is so crisp and contemporary that it's just crazy that it's 97 years old. A++, highly recommend. #BookSky #WriterSky

Question! I’m compiling a list of favorite groups, pages, and hashtags you follow that pertain to writing. It can be a general writing group or page, something specific like a romance group or page, or hashtags. I’ll post the list in a few weeks! #WriterSky #BookSky #Romancelandia

Question: Is anyone into Pokemon cards? My five year old nephew is getting into Pokemon and I want to be the cool aunt who spoils him.

Also, happy tax season to all who celebrate. #Skybrarians

One of the hallmarks of an AI book is "summary" generated books which are also on Libby. Fucking assholes.

I just finished reading Eva Leigh's "A Rogue's Rules for Seduction” (fuck yes, Willa and Dom!) and fucking loved it. Leigh can do no wrong. Now, I want to continue dipping into Leigh’s backlist, but no, my Libby account says otherwise! (I also grabbed Leigh's Zoe Archer books to read!)

Tryinge to ymagine what it must have felt lyke when the breade bowl was invented. Someone wyth a rounde loaf of breade and some clam chowder and then a dreame that became real.

settings > accessibility > check "require alt text before posting" it's going to feel really annoying for a while. it's going to feel overwhelming to try and describe the image if you're not used to doing that but i promise it's WAY better to just get in the habit now for your own posts

So excited!

A federal court just blocked Elon Musk from interfering with the federal government’s payments system. There is power in fighting back. We won’t let up until this block is permanent.

I bet you cannot EVEN guess the number one book with variations on this list. I BET! www.amazon.com/gp/bestselle...

Speaking of romance, I just learned about romance.io where you can find search comps and find other titles by tropes and tags. WOO!

Lots of good stuff here! [gift link] #Romancelandia #BookSky
