“The Good Place” finale is the greatest ending of a series in broadcast history. Fight me. The world may be fucked but this show made me weep and laugh and cheer and connected me to hope. For that I am eternally grateful. #thegoodplace

In the process of cleaning up a hack I rediscovered my "Pompous British Name Generator" and spent a fun couple of minutes with it. My favorite this go-around was "His Royal Highness Danforth Theodesius Cockwaddle VI". heromachine.com/pompous-brit...

When someone asks for an example of great real-time marketing, point them to this. Because when was the last time you thought about MapQuest? Exactly.

I am absolutely gobsmacked – and delighted – that CNN actually called Trump's lies, lies, instead of "misleading statements" or "claims". Too late, but better than never I suppose.

Valentines dinner turned out great! Mustard glazed salmon, sesame ginger oven roasted asparagus, and simple mushrooms with garlic and butter, with a nice Japanese whiskey to complement. And of course a lovely and sparkling companion to share it with.

They should've made a sequel to "The Thing" called "And Another Thing".

The best messaging is to state what everyone knows to be the truth in the simplest and clearest way possible. So it’s hard to imagine more effective messaging than this.

SO proud of my amazing wife, @anniephenix.bsky.social, for her books that have changed the lives of countless thousands of dogs and humans over the years. You are incredible! www.amazon.com/stores/Annie...

In 1983 this was a horrifying image but in 2025 this is just a Republican

Is it just me or over the last few years has vomiting become the go-to scene in pretty much every TV show? I can't watch anything without at least one hurling scene it feels like. #oldpeople #television

Me complaining about authors who have too many characters whose names all start with the same letter because it's so confusing, to my brothers Jimmy, Johnny, and Joey and my sisters Denise, Diane, and Donna. #writing

Pride & Prejudice & Nerds: We usually talk about super heroes on our podcast, but over Thanksgiving I became OBSESSED with Jane Austen. Imagine my delight when I learned my best friend’s wife is a long-time Austenphile! I hope you’ll give our P&P episode a listen. nerdmudgeon.com/jane-austen-...

I wonder how many hungry children the cost of just one of these Super Bowl "He Gets Us" ads could have fed.

Pardon my language, but tough shit, you're getting it anyway.

Me just now while watching the 1971 "Sense & Sensibility" adaptation: “I’m not getting the suffer juice I need out of this scene.” #janeausten #senseandsensibility

Hail is the try-hard version of rain that wants to be snow. Very disappointing.

I need to leave the US. Are you looking for a highly qualified canine behavior expert to join your team? Pls PM me. I am open to anywhere outside of the United States.

I love this so much: "I don't need everyone to think like I do. I'm already me." – Reddit user www.reddit.com/user/tragics... during a discussion about which versions of "Pride and Prejudice" people like. #janeausten #prideandprejudice

I feel like every British romance I watch ends up with someone getting hit by a bus.

From the “Movies that were old before you were born but are still great & you should watch them” department may I recommend “Sliding Doors”, the best movie with a shit title you may ever see, an alternate timeline rom-com about how different your life can be based on seemingly insignificant events.

Rewatching “Four Weddings and a Funeral” for the umpteenth time and it is still SO GOOD!!

"Oodles and Oodles of Poodle Doodles" will be my first children's book. I am not actually going to write a children's book, but it's a pretty great title IMHO.

“With all due respect” = the amount of respect you are due is zero.

I did not know I had it in me to feel an emotion related to furniture, yet here we are – every piece of it in this 1980 Pride and Prejudice production is filling me with rage. #prideandprejudice #janeausten

Why is havoc the only thing we ever talk about getting wreaked? It has a completely unreasonable stranglehold on the verb and I for one won't stand for it.

My buddy John and I did a nostalgic rewatch of 1982's "Swap Thing", written and directed by none other than "Nightmare on Elm Street" genius Wes Craven. This is definitely a movie that was made, with actors and a script and everything. nerdmudgeon.com/cheesy-80s-m... #comics #movies

Do demons have inkjet printers that print in blood instead of ink to make contracting easier? These are the things I think about, I don't know why I'm this way.

My conspiracy theory is that SkyNet has already taken over all the computers in the world, but instead of in-your-face bombers and terminators it's slowly driving us insane with random glitches till we lose it and nuke ourselves. Printers are its front-line fighters in this slow psychological war.
