I picked an interesting time to finally play Final Fantasy VII Remake. When I first played this game in 1997, the story of evil technocrats destroying the environment and turning citizens into corporate serfs seemed like a warning for the future. That “future” seems a lot closer now.

I hope Brian Thompson’s wife and children are able to find the comfort and support they need to deal with their personal tragedy. I also hope elected representatives see the anger this shooting has revealed towards our broken and dysfunctional health care system and opt to do something about it.

I remember becoming politically aware in the late ‘90s and thinking how much better things will be once people my parents’ age are no longer in charge. Thirty years later, people my parents age are still in charge, and my generation (Gen X) are Trump’s biggest supporters. 😐
