I swear, I can't tell what's real or fake on the internet anymore 🫠

there is a decent chance i never spend a single dime at target again in my life www.startribune.com/target-gave-...

Fuck. Yes. youtu.be/OpThntO9ixc?...

It's only Tuesday afternoon and:

Amazing how so on point Andor is.

The Cinema, 5 minutes from where I live. I'm going bankrupt...

Somehow I missed this. My day is off to a great start!

Remember kids. If cops ask you a question, shut the fuck up. Say only what you're legally required to say, which is usually "I won't speak without my lawyer". But ICE aren't cops. The only thing you should say to them is "gargle my balls".

The Fog. I love this movie! After being inspired by a post from @kibblesmith.com about DVD commentaries, I remembered that Carpenter did great DVD commentaries. I've been meaning to re-watch The Fog for years, so thought it was a great opportunity to check out the commentary. Cozy horror film 🍿

There’s something almost erotic about volcano lightning

A comfy watch for me. I need to find an old haunted cinema, showing King Hu wuxia films...

i used to think the lex luther origin story was pretty goofy, but "dude unable to deal with hair loss turns to evil" is such a consistent motif in the real world that now i think it's actually genius

The selection on MUBI (Australia) isn't really grabbing me at the moment, so I'm revisiting favourites from my DVD collection. 3 Women. This is such a great film! I didn't forget how great it is, but it's always nice to be pleasantly reminded how great something is.

Thanks Bluesky, I didn't realise it was Alien day. I might install, and finally finish Alien: Isolation

Since its Alien day, ALIEN is a metaphor for abortion rights and the right to bodily autonomy 😌

Die, My Love from writer-director Lynne Ramsay has been added to the Official Festival de Cannes lineup in competition 👀 Die, My Love stars Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson, LaKeith Stanfield, Sissey Spacek and Nick Nolte.

At the end of 2024, I got to see Seven Samurai (one of my favourites) in the Cinema near where I live. A few months later, they screened High and Low but I missed it. After watching it again at home tonight, I'm kicking myself that I missed it at on the big screen. Amazingly blocked and composed.

Lots of thoughts on this one. I'm a big fan of sci-fi cosmic horror, but unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. Narrative-wise, it doesn't do anything new. Visually though... amazing in parts, & worth seeing for that aspect alone. The soundtrack is awesome. Definitely want to see what FL does next

one of the many things missed by the people who complain about “woke” for a living is that the spread of wokeness is as much of a function of demand as supply

I love weird films, but I don't find many these days make me go 'what the fuck?'. I finally watched Mad God and, I thought 'wtf?' multiple times during its crisp 84 minute runtime. I'd start to become acclimatised to the what the fuck-ness of it all, only to be hit by another 'wtf?' a moment later 👍

Reunited with this little old friend. My weekend just became a bit more fun...
