Senator Booker concluded the longest speech in Senate history to demand that the Senate, Reps and Dems, stop the actions of Donald Trump and his administration. “The power of the people is greater than the people in power.” His marathon speech had the fire and fight desperately needed to stop Trump.

Who is in charge of this shit-show presidency?

Trump's sees his new import taxes as “liberation day.” Erica York, the Tax Foundation’s VP of federal tax policy, said “Trump’s tariffs will hurt American businesses, increase the tax burden on the working-class, and ignite a destructive global trade war." Cheers to being liberated.👍

Trump's character regarding the Signal chat fiasco went on the attack: “I’m not a big fan of The Atlantic." He lashed out at Goldberg, “I happen to know the guy is a total sleazebag.” Then, in denial, tells NBC News it's “the only glitch in two months and it turned out not to be a serious one.”

Michael Tomasky, in The New Republic, writes Trump/Musk are imposing fascism on democracy. Consider the SSA. Lie about it, claim 140-year-olds are cashing checks, wreck the agency's service. "Let public anger at it build. In time, they can just dismantle and privatize it. Call it chaos fascism."

Just sayin’ 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🇺🇸💙🩷🍀

Canadian lawmaker Charlie Angus spotted “something deeper” brewing in America that Canadians are focused on: “watching our nearest neighbor slip into totalitarianism.” “We’re looking at a nation that we don’t understand anymore, [that values] the disappearance of the rule of law."

John Bolton called out Trump for his talk of taking over Greenland. “The language that he uses is completely substitutable for the language that Putin uses about Ukraine, ‘We need it for our national security,’ or Xi Jinping uses about Taiwan,” Bolton told MSNBC’s Chris Jansing.

Travel from Canada to the US is steadily dropping, thanks to Trump's repeated assertions other nations will bend to his trade war. Canada, a close US ally, has rebelled against Trump’s threats. The international image of the US has become that of a pariah. Does he think the US lives in a vacuum?

In "a new Gallup poll, Americans don't like what Trump is doing," Rachel Maddow concluded: He's underwater on his handling of the federal budget, the economy, energy policy, foreign affairs, the Ukraine war, the environment, his relations with Russia & with the news media!" All else looks good.

Pramila Jayapal, Trump doesn’t care about the cost of eggs or anything else that affects your daily life. He’s not fighting for the people. He’s fighting for control, unchecked power, and enriching the wealthy. We will not stand by and let him destroy our democracy.

Research from Harvard U.: "no government has withstood a challenge of 3.5% of their population mobilized against it during a peak event." MoveOn believes in solidarity with people most targeted, and bringing more people to the streets.Tyranny cannot prevail over people who refuse to succumb to it.

Trump’s ‘America First’ MAGA movement turned the Republican Party into an ‘arm of the Kremlin.' “The truth is that MAGA rejects modern America,” Alexei Bayer wrote in The Globalist last year, rubbishing MAGA's claims to patriotism. “It hates diversity, minority rights and permissiveness.”

The Enabling Act allowed Hitler to enact laws that violated the Constitution without the approval of parliament or the President. The Supreme Court did not challenge the Act, viewed Hitler's government as legit, & saw themselves as "state servants who owed him their allegiance and support."

Robert Reich, a Prof. at Berkeley and former Sect. of Labor: Trump uses fear of being deported, job loss, loss of federal contracts, of access to sources of news, of arrest and imprisonment to intimidate critics into silence and submission. He writes about fighting back. robertreich.substack.com.

The Kremlin rejoiced over Trump's move to dismantle the federally funded Voice of America (VOA), which Moscow views as a tool of U.S. propaganda. Reporters Without Borders said authoritarian regimes such as Beijing and Moscow "now have free rein to spread their propaganda unchecked."

A minor punishment for a failed Beer Hall Putsch, the rounding up of political adversaries, and appeasement by those around him Hitler demolished the democracy of the Weimar Republic in 53 days. After naming himself Führer, he gained full control over the government and army. Anything familiar?

Trump has little remorse about workers losing their jobs. “Many of them don’t work at all...many of them never showed up to work." By Musk’s standards, the president hasn’t exactly been showing up to work either. He has played golf on 13 of his first 48 days back in office. Tee off time anyone?

Axios reporters Doherty and Talev report," most Michigan swing voters in our latest Engagious/Sago focus groups said that although they voted for President Trump in November, they now have buyer's remorse." Too late. You got what you voted for.

Americans are looking for strong leaders to stand up to Trump. Tim Walz is “hitting the road, traveling to red states across the country to lend a megaphone to the people. Your congressman may not want to listen, but they’re going to hear from us anyway.” Passivity is not an option.

On MSN, thousands of Europeans have begun organizing boycotts of American products and brands, some including Tesla, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Nike, Levi's, Netflix, Google and Airbnb in protest of the Trump administration's relationship with Europe.

Trump is a cancer attacking the body politic in the name of healthy cutbacks and improvements to democracy. Just ignore him parallels the thinking of the Germans and Italians in the WW2 era. Silence is not an answer to a bullying authoritarian any more than ignoring cancer makes it go away.

Since the 2024 election, there has been no centralized movement to organize the anti-Trump resistance to stop Trump's aggressive moves. Who should fill the leadership void and galvanize the anti-Trump resistance against the authoritarian attack on American democracy?

From turnoutpac.org, "Costco Under Fire in 19 States for Taking Stand Against Trump” Administration by REFUSING to abandon its DEI policies. 19 Republican Attorneys General are pressuring Costco to CAVE to the Trump Administration’s racist and discriminatory agenda! Surrender or resist?

Thrust into unemployment, federal workers face relatives celebrating their firing. One example of many, Luke Tobin U.S. Forest Service, said some relatives reacting to his firing as “what has to happen to make the government great again." Who needs enemies when you have family?

To any Non-Trumpers, a Democratic Representative Al Green yelling At Trump Is going viral. He is the lone person standing and shouting at the President. Anyone else care to join the Resistance?

MAGA acolytes see red as the creators of “Hamilton” refuse to let their hit musical be performed next year at the Kennedy Center. Trump purged the board and made himself chairman. Show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda said, “We’re not going to be a part of it while it is the Trump Kennedy Center."

Any thoughts on Trump's "unofficial" State of the Union address last night? I heard the usual lies and promises of nothing for the American people from whom he received only 48% of the popular vote. He has no mandate. Consider how to push back against the bloated pig who Putin plays for a fool.

Jasmine Crockett and AOC might be the sparks to ignite this country to resist the Trump onslaught and remind us all of what Americans really stand for and stand against.

I love @repjasmine.bsky.social so damn much. REPORTER: “If you could speak directly to Elon Musk, what would you say?” CROCKETT: “Fuck off.” www.instagram.com/reel/DGgv7K4...

Any thoughts on Trump's gold card proposal?
