This is a beautiful piece of work by the same director of the Death Love + Robots short Jibaro: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvbE...

Gym has been spotty the past month or so with so many weekend house things going on, but at least I’m maintaining my cardio and bench hasn’t backslid so badly.

Ear pads / head cushion on my Sennheiser HD280s wore out again. Last got a replacement in September 2021, so it looks like they have about a 3.5 year lifespan. About $10/year. Still the same pair of headphones I've had since like 2007/2008-ish, so definitely cheaper than buying new headphones.

Get these!

Forcing myself to delete a bunch of apps on my phone that are installed but never used—but kept on the phone because I *might* use them. No, if I really need it I can reinstall it. The end.

Explaining to my wife last night what Rizz meant was a fun conversation.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a... Of course it was Ed Case. Man, I really hope we can find someone to primary his ass next time he comes up for reelection.

Every now and then I remember this weird game console I played in the mid 80s and the like two or three games I tried on it. And this one particular game that had grids of numbers that would grow into aliens or something. It was mostly red colored graphics

Libraries are awesome. Go to yours whenever you can!

After Trump was elected the first time, there was also a lot of talk about making iPhones in the US. At the time, I co-edited the sci-fi outlet Terraform, and asked @timmaughan.bsky.social to imagine what such a future might really look like. With his permission, I'm republishing the story in full:

Cool, guess it's time to close every single taxpayer funded project in northern Maine.

Just got word that the first case of Measles has hit Hawaii. We're all vaccinated but still.

Today a company texted me first to let me know they would be calling a little while after the text. Kind of a cool idea to pre-sift expected phone calls that you want to answer from spam calls that we're all constantly inundated with.

Aloha Everyone! We are so excited to announce that Twitch Hawaii has a team set up for this year's Gamers for Giving event @gamersoutreach.bsky.social #GFG2025! This year, we are hoping to reach our Tiltify goal of $25,000! So come hang out, have a blast, and watch some amazing people!

I am sick of dealing with buyers on eBay who try to pull fast ones. I may as well just go back to selling locally only.

in honor of the stupidest era in american history, all my games will be free from april 11th to 13th tombloom.itch.io

I do wish I could be out there today. At home watching the little one. Make our voices heard!

This is your periodic reminder that I have the world’s longest ongoing list of accessibility tools for developers and I want more Thank you carry on. Let me know if links die. assisted.site/accessibility

Have any of you seen the other color varieties of our endemic ʻōhiʻa #lehua? Yvonne Bauer, says: Itʻs the ʻōhiʻa lehua bloom season! I couldn't take my eyes off this beautiful deep orange ʻōhiʻa lehua tree on the rim of Kīlauea Caldera. 🧡 #ThisIsWhereWeWork #HVNP #OhiaLehua #TeamHPPA #ThanksYvonne

Vog is so thick today that we're actually running the AC in the entire house for the first time to try to filter it out some.

Kiddo's passport application is in, one less thing to worry about.

Nothing new, but just a reminder that Purrli, the internet purring generator, exists. Having some purring in the background can be surprisingly soothing. (Note: If you don't move the bottom-most slider all the way over to the left, it will occasionally meow, which can startle you.) purrli.com

I'd like to stop living in interesting times.

Should have listened to my gut and moved all of the retirement funds out of the market before the end of last year. Ugh.

Nothing like cleaning house, moving the kiddo's play mat to vacuum, and finding mold spotting underneath. I hope we caught it early because cutting out and replacing carpet is way cheaper than doing deep remediation.

Also yay Silksong!
