Just got off a town hall with my US Rep, with a guest appearance by Jamie Raskin (who I like). Disappointingly, it’s just more business-as-usual. Lots of talk about looking to the courts for relief, and open-ended hope for the midterms. Constituents are scared. Where’s the fight? Where’s the plan?

If you want to send Google a message for their Gulf of America stunt: 1) Delete Google Maps from all devices. Like all app pubs, they track installs and uninstalls closely. It will take you 30 secs. 2) If on Android, consider a move to an Apple phone. At a minimum, don’t use the Play Store.

Stupid question: Trump fancies himself a real estate genius. Eliminating jobs en-masse from the Federal government will hit DC and other government-heavy metro areas. Could this be a simple plan to crash select real-estate markets so that he and his cronies can buy up stuff on the cheap?

Hey single issue Christian voters that voted for Trump in wanting a national abortion ban: Musk’s attack on USAID will directly lead to the death of an estimated 8300 pregnant women worldwide in the next 90 days. Their blood is on your hands.

Yes. While there are absolutely things Democrats can and must do to slow, obstruct, etc, GOP hold both House and Senate majorities, severely limiting our options. Johnson and Thune are handing over the own keys and relinquishing their own power. Even for the cynics this should be a shock.

Scores just in - Canada: 2 Mexico: 1 Trump: 0 Congress: absent

Schoolhouse Rock is going to have to remake its cartoon on how a bill becomes a law.

Has anyone found Congress’ missing outrage yet? Did we check Lost and Found?

Assuming we make it through the next couple of decades, this will be an incredible image for future historians/students of the Trump era

Just want to say THANK YOU to Cal Fire, local fire crews, and international support. It’s one thing to armchair QB from the snowy South, but unless you’ve experienced these angry, ultra-dry, multi-week (!) events (in January!), you have no idea what these crews have accomplished.

Stopped at a Chevron station in Merced, CA to fill up while on a road trip. They’re using their valuable pump signage space to push people to an anti-gas-tax website, claiming that 25% of fuel cost is fees and taxes. They conveniently skip the part where 75% of fuel cost goes to Chevron.

ATTN: THREAD: The loyalty interviews have begun in DC. As someone who has direct experience with this, I have a couple of recommendations for all federal workers. Please share this widely, and with any federal government employee you know. 1/

Just made a donation to @crew.bsky.social after following their work for years. I reached out to ask if there were ways to donate that didn’t involve ActBlue, given prior bad experience, and CREW responded quickly with a number of different ways to give. Well done, CREW.

Leonard Leo, Harlan Crow, Ginni Thomas, Martha Alito, John Roberts, Sam Alito, and Clarence Thomas love it when you blame Garland and Biden for the fact that the Supreme Court stopped the cases against Trump.

Most local hiking trails don’t allow dogs. Inevitably someone feels like the rules don’t apply to them, and brings their pooch. I’ve started calling people out (nicely) that bring their dogs; it makes a difference and can be amusing at the same time.

The President of the United States will come into office with his own social media platform. That, combined with X, means Trump will have turnkey state-run media. I don’t think the media has fully grasped that yet.

Dumb question: Does Bluesky support something like the awesome Starter Pack “bundle of follows” concept in reverse - a blocklist?
