Thanks to my sister sending my nephew as a bouffant lion on a day it wasn’t, I will always triple-check it’s dressing up for World Book Day at school

In a massive apology to Stop Funding Hate, yes, I got the food for this lovely evening from M&S, which proves my point that it’s hard to dodge hypocrisy I this whole well-intentioned DEI game. Also, you show him, Trudeau

Really shocking to see this level of hate being platformed in the Stour & Avon and Blackmore Vale magazines. What the absolute hell are they thinking?

This helps. And I bet you it really upsets them. youtu.be/CUpOMSJ1MdU?...

I physically twitch every time someone says they want to bring users “delight.” Like Steve this is accounting software, no one is delighted to be here

“Mam, can you set up my new phone and give my old one to Martha, cos she’s got a new SIM” is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever heard this early on a Saturday. I know people were disappointed in the Apple encryption stuff but I feel like I’ve just done an escape room

Occasionally, on Facebook, I’ll pick a random post about LGBT+ inclusion (football, brands, rainbow ambulances etc), and comment how things would be easier for my family if people were a little kinder. Don’t think it changes much, but it always unsettles the nastiness. Bet my mates cringe though

Have loved Canada. A truly big place. Been tricky to switch off at times, so 9+ hours of Schitt’s Creek to help coming up

Important thread & especially so re the image which unhelpfully feeds into a lazy “personal choice” narrative

This accessibility work Evri has done in partnership with Scope is ace: www.evri.com/accessibility Does anyone know who covers accessibility at Evri? I'd love to have a chat with them.

They advertise Ozempic a LOT in Canada, and this post has nothing to do with how much I’ve eaten since we got here

As the deadline for the European Accessibility Act (EAA) approaches, Accessibility Lead Danny has looked at each of the EU member states (and the UK) to assess their digital accessibility maturity, and how well individual countries are positioned to meet the changing landscape: tinyurl.com/5b2f6zpz

men used to go to war. men used to hunt and gather and provide. men used to be monkeys. before that they were quadrupeds. before that they were fish. you just don't see men with gills anymore. we've gone soft.

Morning cold that takes your breath away. Mule deer wandering the streets. Mammoth trucks and trains, almost as big as the breakfasts. Wish I drank the coffee that’s continually on tap from friendly people. Devastation from the fire eerily apocalyptic. Went moose hunting. Sky is amazing 🇨🇦

When you go on holiday, and so does your dog #PinkPonyClub

British people are so vile to each other in airports “I NEED you to sit down Jake”, “you’ve missed the fucking table”, “I’ve told you a million times Linda, it’s not up there yet”. I really hope they have a nicer time when they get to their destination

Detestable. If you’ve been anywhere near LGBT+ inclusion in your life or work, push back if you can 🌈

As an employer, we have mixed experience of the scheme. I’d agree it needs reform, but through service design and collaboration, not suggesting demand is too high. Employers, education, social sector, and families need to reimagine an overstretched service, WITH not for disabled people

Feckin eejit

With the crushingly unsurprising announcement that big agencies are dropping their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, I wonder if they’ve done any impact assessments on staff morale, churn, or even the quality of the work they will put out in the future. I suspect not.

Trip to Stockholm last week, for a day full of meetings about accessibility and inclusion, shone a light on how different cultural attitudes, government infrastructure and family approaches shape the work. Lots to think about when our team grows in Sweden. Timely, against the current global DEI fire

This would seem to bar Accenture from all UK public sector contracts

In the hope small steps in workplace wokery matter, our microactivism in a tough week: 1. supporting a hyperlocal LGBTQ+ history event 2. encouraging someone to launch an ERG on reproductive health 3. reminding people to use their volunteer days 4. signing up to CostCo #VirtueSignalling

Just been to an Ice Bar experience that was reminiscent of the time I got shut in the freezer as a prank when I used to drive an ice cream van

He didn’t have to comment on this. He certainly didn’t have to say he still supported DEI work, by opening with “well, scrapping it all would appeal to a lot of people”. Carefully chosen words to push the (far) right buttons www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

What’s the saying? The Venn diagram of white male business leaders, posting on LinkedIn that perhaps DEI had gone too far, who I know drive Teslas is a circle, right?

I think I might actually believe in creationism, and I suspect that omniscient sod might just hate me

It seems February 1st marks LGBT History Month, so learn this: if the following doesn't make you feel proud to be a raging Friend of Dorothy, I don't know what will. #LGBTHistoryMonth

A dark day for transparency in science.

I’m out early to drum in a lunar parade in Macc. Asked the family if they like to join. Two of them muttered “loony parade”. They’ll be getting a lesson on inclusive language when I’m over the burn
