My newest adventure, Where Fire Lives, is out now on DriveThruRPG and Itch! It's a race against the clock to defeat the mage that's plunging Castle Garet into flame before it vanishes into a caldera of boiling magma, all the while recovering the castle's treasures! #ttrpgs #osr

I announce thee Non-Euclidean 4-Dimensional Aberrant Castle! System Neutral #OSR adventure hiskih.itch.io/aberrant-cas... 27 rooms across 2 dungeons! Home Print Friendly B&W A5 format! Sliding block dungeon! Infinite hallways! Weird corners! 4D-demons! No Math! #selfpromosunday #ttrpg #dnd

It was absolutely a deliberate choice by us to make this game fun and accessible. I heavily dislike horror but very much enjoy anomaly stuff and other weird fiction, so we wanted to make a game that everyone can get spooked by just the right amount. Thanks for the review!

How are you enjoying #SteamNextFest? Finnish Cottage 8 Demo is available now on Steam; play now: https://buff.ly/40LYtTX ! #wishlistwednesday #indiegame #horrorgame #unity3d

Getting ready for a game of #Runecycle. Pay attention to the lack of items needed to play! 🧵1/?

On this #selfpromosaturday I was thinking about running an intro ttrpg game for some friends and remembered that I wrote a really nice one-shot adventure that one time. If you need a short non-dungeon story that showcases the creative freedom of ttrpgs consider trying hiskih.itch.io/lakeside-und...

In know enough tech to know this could be a legitimate description of my account but it could also be a series of random words 😂

I've always hated miniatures but I like gridded combat. The issues is you need a ton of minis to be able to facilitate the variety of situations I want to run so I'd have to spend a ton of money and effort to get a good base set. For random one-shots this covers all scenarios. #osr #ttrpg #dnd

Announcing Universal Paper Minis - Warriors & Mages! This set of self-standing paper miniatures fits any #ttrpg occasion! This is also my submission to #ZineMonth so grab a copy ($5) and help me fund the next set with Monsters! #SelfPromoSaturday #dnd #ZiMo hiskih.itch.io/universal-pa...

The rework of #Runecycle took such great leaps today that I'm considering opening the game quietly for paid early access. Probably will have to rework the itch page too then... Thoughts? #selfpromosaturday #ttrpg #indiedev

Ya boi has been bopping to the tunes of Rift of the Necrodancer since its launch yesterday. I have to say had the game not thrown a rythm calibration and tutorial at me I would have thought I was playing a dating sim with this amazing character art. If they won't make it, some modder definitely will

Hello #WIPwednesday! #Runecycle is getting a whole new art direction. Whaaat!?! Here's a taste of the new vibes. #ttrpg #indiedev #art

Many games aim for the "fantasy dungeon game". This is the only one that understands simple and snappy does not need to be a detriment to mechanical depth. The system is rules heavy yet plays rules light. And what a joy it is to homebrew for due to both of these aspects.

Last batch of the WIP class icons for #Runecycle. Initially I had a whopping 12 classes but ended up smushing them down to 6 with all of them having more options.

#Runecycle got into a massive overhaul over the winter break. Here's a wip of some of the new class icons and intros #selfpromosaturday #ttrpg #indiedev

I'm close to finishing Tactical Breach Wizards and I have to say sure the tactical combat is best I've ever played, topping Into the Breach, but right now I'm in it for the plot. This game has incredible writing. Its funny, surprising and intriguing constantly and consistently.

It has been a journey for sure. I am very thankful for the whole Savukivi team for their hard work in pulling this off. Now to stick the landing 😬🤞

Gotta give it to them, Sweden absolutely kills it with Christmas carols. American songs are too jolly and Finnish versions are boring and depressing. Even the lame classics have proper gravitas på Svenska.

I'm detecting major discrepancies between NORAD, Google and Flightradar24 Santa trackers. I'm starting to suspect there may be impostor Santas running interference. Stay alert and inspect any overtly jolly fellas in red clothes.

That ending gets me every time…

Ok the themes of Marvel Rivals (Rivals 'Til the End) and CIV 7 (Live Gloriously) did not catch me the first time but after getting familiar with both their difficult to follow structures are growing on me. Very unpredictable on the first play but interesting when you get to know the patterns.

Help me get Vagabond's Basic Hero's Handbook zines printed! www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL47...

Skill based combat in TTRPGs while fun, is somewhat against the whole roleplaying thing. If the goal is to deliver character fantasy, consider combat to be a tool to fulfill the fantasy of a warrior. The point of the fight is to show how your character deals with danger, not to play chess.

#selfpromosaturday ttrpg fun for the winter break, try the Mobile Dungeon Task Force playtest www.questcheck.org/playtest/675... MDTF is a supplement to play a modern military raiding a dungeon in Vagabond // Pulp Fantasy RPG by @indestructoboy.bsky.social. You only need the free BHH + a dungeon!

A surefire way to detect the fantasy genre is that there are things that glow ominously and without explanation.

Dear all, if you make a little booklet, pdf or any kind of tiny publication, however informal, please put a date in it. Having no date information makes citation difficult or at least very ugly. I hate having to put (<lastname>, no date) as the citation in my works. And blogs too please!
