Protect Our Public Lands! Old-growth forests are less prone to fire danger because the multi-canopy forests are sponges—they shield the soil from the drying sun and keep the water in the soil! In short, large contiguous forests are necessary to keep the water cycle (from soil to rain) intact.

Republicans aren’t hiding anything. Their priorities are written in black and white: trillions of dollars in tax breaks to the rich, while making savage cuts to Medicaid, housing, nutrition and education. The reconciliation bill will make the rich even richer and the poor poorer.

We must heavily monitor this regime for null and void actions against our PUBLIC LANDS, particularly our OLD GROWTH forests. The last time I went to town, I saw two logging trucks with enormous cut Douglas fir trees (only four could fit per truck). Monitor lumber mills for accepting these trees?
