Yesterday made for a beautiful winter Saturday afternoon for a hike along the Yadkin River in NWNC. It was so peaceful and all I could hear were birds and the flowing water. Made me forget the ugliness of this country.

This was taken exactly 1 year ago today from my hospital room. I was recovering from Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Today, I walked 10 miles and my A1c is down to 5.4!

A year ago today, I was in an ICU unit with Diabetic Ketoacidosis. I was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic.My A1c was 13.4 and BS over 900. One year later, I’m 80 lbs lighter and I’m maintaining my A1c under 6.0 and I feel wonderful and very blessed this Thanksgiving!!
