On TV at the same time: NAVARRO: “This is not a negotiation.” LUTNICK: “Of course they are” open to negotiation. 🤡

Booker: "What this president is doing is violating our constitutional principles, violating the fundamental rights of people in order to punish them to carry out his own retribution plan ... Donald Trump is saying, 'ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for Donald Trump.'"

Massive #HandsOff rallies across the country 🔥🔥🔥

Wow. #HandsOff rally in St. Paul, Minnesota is massive!

Raskin: We even have the right to call the president deranged for crashing our economy, destroying $6 trillion of wealth and turning our 401(k) Into a 201 (K). And the press has the right to call the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of Mexico.

Et tu, WSJ?

Good early crowd here at the Washington Monument.

🚨🚨Calling all North Carolina voters!! Here is a list of every voter that Jefferson Griffin is trying to disenfranchise, please if you are a NC voter check to see if your name is on here, you have 15 days to cure your ballot to make sure your vote counts. thegriffinlist.com/assets/griff...

1) Fox News is for real not showing stock-market ticker during this week's collapse. 2) Its economic news is "strong jobs report." 3) Every time I've checked in today, the coverage has been "illegal immigrants committing new crimes." This is state propaganda, on a par with North Korea or PRC.

Wow who could’ve guessed that this would happen It’s almost as if USAID was a pillar of American soft power and influence in the world It’s almost as if it was entirely predictable that America’s adversaries would work to fill the void left by USAID’s destruction

This is what's happening.

“Don’t be fooled. They are coming for your health care.” @slotkin.senate.gov on the billionaire-first agenda Senate Republicans just voted to advance:

Susan Collins helps confirm Oz. Look forward to media giving this as much coverage as one of her stern letters. When Oz makes it harder for folks to e.g. access health care and Collins voices concern, will Maine reporters act like goldfish and ignore that she caused what she "opposes"? #MEpolitics

Hey @lmccauley.bsky.social I can't find the part of the story where you talk about how Susan Collins and Angus King voted on RFK Jr's confirmation and what was known at that time about his qualifications and plans for the agency. #MEpolitics

Wouldn't know it from Maine media -- since Susan Collins didn't send them a press release -- but their queen just voted to advance a budget with $6.1 trillion in red ink tax cuts for the rich on the backs of working folks. Even if she votes 'no' in the end, she's helping make it happen. #MEpolitics

Today, every Senate Republican but one voted to confirm Harmeet Dhillon to run DOJ's Civil Rights Division, putting one of Trump’s own attorneys + someone with a long record of attacking voting rights in charge of protecting those rights for millions of Americans. www.huffpost.com/entry/harmee...

Who lost their jobs at the FDA? The people who determine if a costly drug is ready to be a generic The people who test food and drugs for contaminants and deadly bacteria in several labs were let go The people talking to overseas drug safety regulators to get ahead of foodborne illness & deaths

the british didn’t understand what brexit meant for their economy. but they wanted it, they voted for it, and they’ve gotten it. now it’s the americans’ turn.

We’re back early with a mid-week update, because the last few days have been … phew. Join us as we look at the president's efforts to "liberate" Americans from prosperity and good health:

The headline says it all. This adminstration has been acting as if everybody else just needs to sit back and take it. But surprise! All these impacted countries are using their own agency to protect and leverage this moment for themselves. The arrogance is going to destroy us.

WH has now confirmed: this is insane nypost.com/2025/04/02/u...

I know there's a lot going on but also Republicans are on the verge of confirming someone who has routinely attacked voting rights, abortion rights and LGBTQ+ rights to lead DOJ's Civil Rights Division. www.huffpost.com/entry/harmee...

Waltz gotta go…

Every tariff is an import tax. Who pays these taxes? We do. If Trump goes forward with his tariff spree, today — whatever the White House wants to call it — will be everyday families’ Tax Day.

It’s time to move on from the heartbreaks and desolation of Americas 20th century!

NEW from me: This afternoon, Donald Trump plans to implement the largest tariff hike in modern US history—and we know functionally zero details about it This historic tariff uncertainty is already terrifying consumers, hurting business, curbing investment, & more www.apricitas.io/p/the-cost-o...

Okay lets goooo here we have John Bursch from the conservative litigation mill Alliance Defending Freedom is up to argue that states like South Carolina can keep Planned Parenthood out of state Medicaid programs

I have co-authors who are cancelling planned trips. We are already viewed as a police state and this is doing incredible and long-lasting damage to scholarly work (and the International standing of the nation these folks claim to care about)

Just trying to get my head around the absolute gutting of cdc and nih today. A bleak day for the US and …. well staying alive longer than people did in the 19th century.

Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"

SENATOR BOOKER’S FILIBUSTER HAS OVET 155 MILLION LIKES ON TIKTOK INJECT THIS INTO MY VEINS

So, we can get an alleged sex trafficker in Romanian custody sent to the U.S. where he walks freely but we can't get the Salvadorean government to send back a guy that we sent them and whom we're paying to keep there? Yeah, no.

Raskin: I call on my colleagues to take down the wanted posters with judges’ faces on them outside of offices in House office buildings

They have always had more money than our side, and now they are trying to, at minimum, make it appear as if they are more popular than they are. We can't let them.

I can’t believe this is real! It’s like the worst caricature of how the right says Soros does politics.

It's Sunday afternoon/evening, depending on where you are — and that means we're back with a look at the latest week of Trump's second term. This has been a _busy_ week — but we've highlighted news people may have missed amid the brouhaha over the war-plans (?!) group chat:

So the government is canceling programs that actually connect farmers' products (food) with consumers (e.g. school lunches, USAID) and spending more than that to replace lost revenue from punitive tariffs that hurt them. Another brilliant move by Trump 2.0

“To capriciously eject people from the country without warning merely for publishing an unpopular political opinion in a student newspaper is, no matter what Trump’s defenders or special pleaders may beg, utterly abhorrent.” www.nationalreview.com/2025/03/wher...

This is the latest person decreed by Marco Rubio to be a foreign policy threat and thus now subject to deportation:

He fired the black chairman of the joint chiefs for being woke and hired his brother.

We will not be distracted. We will not be discouraged. We’ve got our eyes on the prize. And we will build the prosperous, free nation for all that we deserve. The time to organize is now. OcasioCortez.com

Even if you accept the premise and decision, which I absolutely do not, it is the simplest thing to phone the visa holder, tell them their visa is revoked and say they have a month to leave the country. Accosting someone on the street like a kidnapping is just a spectacle of terror.

To anyone who is not clear: The First Amendment protected Rumeysa Ozturk when she published her op-ed. The same way it has protected me. Rule of law means that we should be treated equally.

She’s too busy monitoring members of Congress speech see if anybody is “crossing the line” and planning “reparations” for J6 criminals.

I'm not saying anything novel here but it really is just truly despicable to watch them use THEIR OWN COLOSSAL SCREW UP to slander the reporter THEY INCLUDED ON THEIR CLASSIFIED GROUP CHAT

The cowardice of the GOP has been astounding 👇 #TraitorTrump
