My grandma wouldn't leave the house without putting on lipstick. I mean, she could be wearing a housecoat and have her hair in curlers... as long as her lips done. For me, it's earrings. I feel weirdly incomplete without them. What's your "won't leave the house without" thing?

I was just thinking about this... like does every insufferable a-hole coworker have family/friends who love them??? Do they not know that Corbin in finance is universally hated M-F???

I don't have a cat... *or do I??? 🐈

12 seconds of peace... spring in the driftless region of southwestern Wisconsin

I figured out how to use a couple different drill bits -and a painters tape depth marker- to countersink a too-short screw for a knob I wanted to reuse on a new drawer box+old drawer face. It sounds much less fiddly and frustrating than it was. Please clap for me. #diy #renovations #oldhouse

Couldn't figure out why my FB feed was suddenly FLOODED with ridiculous nonsense. Then I remembered I put all my annoying FB "friends" on a 30-day snooze about 31 days ago :D

I'd rather have a slightly sour snappy grape than a sweet one with too much give. 🍇

Coming in from the Snow: Official Midwestern Protocol: Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! Stomp! scuff-scuff-scuff-scuff-scuff-scuff Wiiiipe Wiiiipe ❄️🥾🥾❄️

After the storm. Lots of snow last night. The power lines were sparking and the utility crews were out late. Happy Spring Equinox! #driftlessregion #wisconsin #snow #shadows

On the day before the spring equinox, winter is getting the last word. It's wet, heavy snow and the branches are creaking and snapping. Wouldn't be surprised by a power outage, but we have books, cards, and snacks.

I really thought I'd be making more zoodles and bloomin' onions.

I just followed a cobbler on IG because I'd much rather watch videos of a guy re-soling a pair of wingtips than facing all *gestures broadly* this

Being an adult can suck, but I just bought jellybeans, candy coated chocolate eggs, Peeps, and a Cadbury egg with my own money and am eating them at will... so there's that.

Found an old garden bench tangled up in overgrown bushes. It was growing its own little universe 💚

I just want a hack that will show me how to get one of these back in the bag without crying.

The 3 levels of toothbrushing are: 1) quick breath-freshener, 2) everyday hygiene, and 3) major event/pre-dental-visit

Taking a break from the news. We're playing cards (Hand and Foot), drinking tea (Lemon Zinger), and looking out the window at (probably 🤞) the last snow of the season. ❄️🦌❤️

Please don't buy my books on major platforms today. 💪

We're renovating a little house on a hobby farm and at least five times a day I'm grateful for the keyless chuck on the drill and my little cordless screwdriver.

Our daughter-in-law, the wildly talented artist, Tiana Traffas, will be having a solo show at @pumphousearts in La Crosse, Wisconsin - February 26 to April 12. “The Tea Drawings” combine her lifelong passion for adornment, an interest in herbal medicines, & feminist perspective on the female body

Dear manager This week I 1 Woke up, fell out of bed 2 Dragged a comb across my head 3 Found my way downstairs & drank a cup & looking up, I noticed I was late 4 Found my coat & grabbed my hat, made the bus in seconds flat 5 Found my way upstairs & had a smoke & somebody spoke & I went into a dream~

Thinking about how before cell phones when someone would call way too early and wake you up you'd lie and say they hadn't because we'd been programmed that sleeping later than the person calling was somehow bad and lazy. And that's reason #597 we genXers are so screwed up.

Ingredients for a novel. Just add creativity.

The best part about being laid off is all the nice things your former coworkers say about you. It's like being eulogized while you're still alive.

I've always thought an icicle would be the perfect mrrdrr w3ap0n. The evidence would just melt away. #mysterywriter #cozymystery #driftlessregion #winter

I, a mature adult, having to stop while reading my new mushroom field guide.

Absolutely not. Do not serve me a low-frosting interior piece and pretend it's as good as one from the outer ring.

Question for indie authors and readers: I set up my cozy mystery series on Amazon because it was easy for both ebook and print and had a large reach. Looking to make a change. Readers: is there a platform you prefer to buy from? Indie Authors: which platform do you love for ease of use/cost /other?

You know that giant spinny wheel on The Price is Right?

Thinking about the time I went to the dentist to have a tiny chip filed smooth. It was not visible, but my tongue kept finding it and it was driving me crazy. Dentist said, "ah, yes. The tongue is the sheriff of the mouth" and now I can't stop picturing it wearing a tiny ten gallon hat.

One of the most liberating things I've ever done was cancelling the 7 a.m. M-F alarm on my phone after I got laid off from my corporate marketing job... which, btw, just happened a few hours ago.

Your reminder that fame is not wealth and America is broken. Mainstream people know him as the cabbie from SCROOGED, but he’s a prolific musician and entertainer who has been at the heart of music since the late ‘70s. variety.com/2025/music/n...

I think I stay on Facebook for the nostalgia… and also to watch the people I thought were stupid in high school prove me right every day.

hope this helps... ✌️❤️❄️ snowy day, SW Wisconsin, February 8
