Congratulations to our member organisation Depaul on the event held at Belfast City Hall to mark their 20th anniversary of operation in NI. Former staff member and current Belfast Lord Mayor @micky-murray.bsky.social gave a powerful tribute to the great work of Depaul at the event.

This morning the Department of Finance published the latest new dwelling statistics for NI. Over the last financial year, 828 social housing new starts and 911 completions were recorded in NI. On 31 Dec 24, 48325 households were on the Social Housing Waiting List with 30982 with homelessness status

We were out at Malone House this morning for the launch of our member organisation Extern's new five-year strategy. The launch gave a flavour of the breadth and depth of Extern's work across a wide range of areas, including supporting people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

The latest PropertyPal data shows the price of the average rental listing across NI has risen to £960 a month, a rise of 8.5% over the last year. In Belfast, the average monthly rent for new listings has now hit £1,127. www.irishnews.com/news/busines...

Last week the NI Frontline Network held a networking event for floating support staff working in greater Belfast. We had participants at different stages of their career coming together to share their experiences and learn more about how they can best support folks they are working to support.

NI Audit Office report on #homelessness is very helpful with startling facts that might come as a surprise to some. Reducing hotel/B&B use is a must for obvious reasons and rebalancing budgets to focus on prevention and co-ordinated support is the way forward, along with social housing building.

This morning the Department for Communities released the latest housing statistics for NI. The number of households with homelessness status continues to climb, almost reaching 31,000. Since March 2015, the number has increased by 127% www.communities-ni.gov.uk/publications...

The group heard from three Health Inclusion nurses working for the Belfast, South-Eastern and Western Trust on their work supporting people experiencing homelessness.
