I get that, but from the viewpoint of the consumer, the product (review) is compromised. The end result is a bunch of samey looking day-one reviews that cannot compare to the long form content put out by most creators on YT (whose audience where the mockery comes from, mostly)

The point of the memes was to mock the lack of original thought and effort, as well as the perception that games journalists would rather push out a shoddy incomplete review rather than finish the game. That said, the memes thus spawned were equally lacking in original thought and more annoying.
