DEI is about good business, not good ethics. At its core it is about hiring and keeping the best employees, and maximizing your customer base.
Companies with DEI programs are not putting ethics over profits. They've just become enlightened enough to stop shooting themselves in the foot.

i like to believe that the story happened but wasn't a miracle
that instead when jesus and his disciples gave up their food for people in the crowd who had brought none it prompted everyone else to add the food they brought but didn't need to the baskets
and there was more than enough for everyone

Yeah, saying you think the microbiome could play a role in something and you would like to see scientific research about that is very different from asserting without evidence that it does X and that doing Y will fix it.
