Firing thousands of hardworking civil servants at the IRS won't save us money. It'll add billions to the deficit by making it easier for the ultra-rich to cheat on their taxes. While billionaires line their pockets, families will struggle to get the help they need from the IRS.

Trump said he'd "love and cherish" Medicaid. Hours later, he endorsed the House Republican budget that cuts Medicaid by *hundreds of billions of dollars.* Republicans are betraying the middle class so they can give trillions in tax giveaways to the ultra-rich.

A reminder from Ranking Member @CongBoyle: If House Republicans lose just two votes for their budget, we can stop their plan to cut Medicaid and pass trillions in giveaways to the ultra-rich. House Democrats won't stop fighting to stop this budget that betrays the middle class.

Trump said he would "love and cherish" Medicaid. We all know what happens when Donald Trump promises to love and cherish anyone or anything. Republicans want to cut Medicaid by hundreds of billions of dollars to fund tax giveaways to their billionaire donors.

Firing thousands of hardworking IRS employees in the middle of tax season will be a disaster for families. And conveniently for Elon Musk, it'll make it even easier for the ultra-rich to cheat on their taxes. As always, the GOP's top priority is their billionaire donors.

BREAKING: Trump just endorsed House Republicans’ plan to gut Medicaid, the program he said he would “love and cherish.” Medicaid provides health coverage to 72 million Americans. Trump is trying to rip that away. Democrats are fighting to stop him.

Last night, Trump said he wouldn't cut Medicaid. He just endorsed the House Republican budget that makes at least $880 BILLION in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. They'll say or do anything to get more giveaways for their billionaire donors.

Last night, I proposed a simple amendment to Republicans’ budget resolution: A 2 cent tax on every dollar of wealth over $50 million dollars for the richest 0.05% of American households. Spoiler alert: every single Republican voted NO on making the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share.

After a 12-hour markup where Democrats fought to stop them, Republicans passed a budget that betrays the middle class. Their plan steals from working families while delivering a $4.5 TRILLION giveaway to their billionaire donors. Democrats will fight this Republican Rip Off.

Some House Republicans seem to be confused, so let's get one thing straight: Nobody voted for Elon Musk. And they definitely didn't vote for Republicans to give Elon and other Republican donors a $4.5 trillion dollar tax giveaway.

“Reasonable” That’s what one of my Republican colleagues thinks of slashing programs like SNAP, Medicare, Social Security to fund a tax giveaway to the ultra-wealthy. I had some thoughts about that👇🏽

We're 8 hours into fighting back against a Republican budget that betrays the middle class — and @housebudgetdems.bsky.social aren't backing down. We won't stand by while Republicans steal taxpayer dollars and give them to their billionaire donors.

I don't think that my parents, because they're on Social Security, are parasites. I don't think my neighbor who is on Medicaid is a parasite. I need Republicans to get right with themselves.

Just checking in on a few of Trump's promises for working families — must have missed them in the Republicans' budget 🤔

WATCH: House Republicans love to talk about their top campaign donor Elon Musk. They're less interested in talking about how their budget gives a $4.5 TRILLION tax cut to the ultra-rich and rips away health care from American families.

[email protected] just introduced an amendment to the GOP budget that makes the wealthy pay their fair share and closes loopholes that let hedge fund managers dodge taxes. Republicans, of course, oppose it—because taxing billionaires even slightly more is just too much to bear.

Where does the accumulated debt of this country come from? It comes from Republican Presidents going back to Ronald Reagan. 3/4 of the accumulated debt of this country is due to Republican Presidents who didn't pay for their spending—so much for Republican's being the party of fiscal responsibility.

OOPS: House Republicans just admitted that Social Security is next on the chopping block. They want to give the ultra-rich a $4.5 trillion tax cut — and make middle-class families foot the bill.

I just introduced an amendment that stops the Republican plans to pay for their massive tax cuts for billionaires on the backs of working Americans. Predictably, Republicans are outraged—because nothing makes them angrier than the idea of billionaires paying their fair share.

Wealthy donors like Elon Musk poured millions into the 2024 election, and now they're coming to collect the tax cuts they were promised. Republicans want our kids, veterans, and seniors to pay for them. This budget is a scam — plain and simple.

I’m heading back into the Budget Committee to expose Republicans as they betray poor and working American families. They’re stealing your benefits to pay for their Trump Tax Scam 2.0 — a $4.5 TRILLION giveaway to the ultra-rich. We’re fighting to stop them.

"As Trump said to billionaire donors of his gathered at Mar-a-Lago, you're rich as hell, we're gonna give you tax cuts." Watch Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social lay out how this Republican budget betrays the middle class with $4.5 TRILLION in tax cuts for the ultra-rich:

This morning, House Republicans are trying to give $4.5 TRILLION in tax giveaways to the ultra-rich. It's a betrayal of the middle class — and Democrats are ready to fight back. An update from Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social:

WATCH: Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social joins @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social to talk about how the Republican budget betrays American families: There is absolutely nothing in there whatsoever that will reduce costs for families. But what is there is $4.5T of tax cuts for the ultra-rich.

We're voting on the Republican budget tomorrow. They want $4.6 trillion in tax cuts for their wealthy donors, and we don't even know what they're cutting to pay for it — they left 31 pages blank. But I think we can guess. And @housebudgetdems.bsky.social are pushing back.

What's in their budget? Nothing to bring costs down. But what they do have is $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the ultra-rich. Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social on how this Republican budget betrays the middle class:

"The American people deserve better than this Republican Rip Off. We won’t stand by while they betray the middle class to serve the wealthiest few." Read Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social's full statement on the Republican budget plan:

I seem to remember Trump and House Republicans promising to make inflation their top priority.   Maybe they're too busy working on passing trillions in tax giveaways for their billionaire donors?

"By confirming Russell Vought—an architect of Project 2025—they have empowered someone whose sole mission is to impose a radical right-wing agenda on the American people." Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social on Senate Republicans voting to confirm Vought as OMB Director. ⤵️

"Vought isn’t just another extremist voice. He helped write Project 2025, a far-right plan to tear down independent agencies, weaken democracy, and hand more power to the executive branch." Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social calls on the Senate to reject Russell Vought's nomination:

"Republicans love to talk about fighting for working families, but their actions since returning to power make one thing clear: they have no real plan to lower costs or help everyday Americans." Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social on December PCE Inflation Data:

"Make no mistake — this was no accident. OMB’s attempt to freeze federal grants is straight out of Project 2025, the far-right blueprint crafted by Russell Vought." Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social on the reversal of Trump's reckless federal grant freeze:

"I am calling on the administration to immediately reverse this action. Anything less is a betrayal of the hardworking American families and communities that rely on these vital resources." Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social on the Trump White House's federal funding freeze. ⤵️

NEW: @congressmanboyle.bsky.social joined other top House Democrats to condemn Trump’s illegal attempt to purge nonpartisan Inspectors General. These watchdogs are vital to rooting out corruption and ensuring government serves the people—not personal or political interests.

Thank you, President Biden. Together, we delivered millions of jobs, took on the cost of living, and invested in the middle class. There's more work to do — with the GOP focused on tax cuts for billionaires, Democrats will keep fighting to ensure our economy works for everyone.

MAGA Republicans are at it again—pushing an extreme agenda that betrays the working class while showering massive giveaways on the top 1%. Here’s what their plan really means for everyday Americans: 🧵 subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2025...
