Great write up from Rebecca.

The longer we leave streets in their "normal," high-speed, car-oriented state, the more we risk injury and death for all street users. It’s a price, writes Guest Columnist Rebecca Serna of Propel ATL, we shouldn’t have to pay. Thank you @saportareport.bsky.social! saportareport.com/how-many-liv...

Funny. I enter a question about MARTA infill station and was not asked or answered. Why can’t someone run against Dickens. I want transit.

This is the slide they shared with about the “new” timeline. It honestly sounds we are pushing 2030-32 for a functional build. I expressed to them they are starting to see the community lose faith.

I count ten people in a two-block stretch of Memorial Drive just months after the protected cycle track fully opened. All but one were women. Atlanta is rapidly becoming a place where folks of all ages and abilities can get from one place to another without a car. And oh, the weather is nice.

Soon- EAV, too 👀

At the Murphy Crossing public meeting. Anyone have a question they would like to submit?

Heard there will be details about Reynoldstown’s “spoke” intersection shared at an upcoming neighborhood meeting. Date & time tbd, however anticipating it to be at Lang-Carson Rec Center. Will share more details once available. I haven’t seen the design(s) proposed yet, either.

Supposedly protected bike lanes on either side of the street continuous from Sydney / CVS to McDonough 👀 Still haven’t seen the designs… but that would be *big* if truly protected & continuous.

Something something need more art weaved within the community

😂 it was a neighbor who lives right behind the church trying to save space on the road for cars to be able to pass. He moved it off the sidewalk, that’s what I care about. Nobody else had such a problem yesterday though 🤷‍♂️

Dear developers, come build more housing in Atlanta. We need it. 60 story. 6 story. 3 story. Whatever- just come add more variety of homes all over our city- ideally with some smaller sized retail spaces for locals to run businesses & have closer proximity to goods, too.

If I was mayor, airport intercom announcements would not repeat my own voice, but rather amplify local business owners, historians, entertainers, & layman from the city to share notable destinations and context about the city for people to visit, spend money at, & learn about.

Apparently GDOT thinks Atlanta is full of giants 😂 Yeah we be eating good, but damn!!

A lot of public officials, government departments, and even corporations that do good are hesitant if not downright resistant towards *doing the right thing* because they don’t want to have a tough conversation with constituents. To hell with that. Do projects the right way.

Just another day in the neighborhood.

Update, they moved their car. Thanks! Fortunately in time before one of our senior neighbor in an electric wheelchair went for a stroll through the neighborhood.

Southside BeltLine progress

Bike to play 🚲

New stormwater retention pond just dropped on the Southside 👀

Fuck it. Posted on FB & Nextdoor for reach. Let’s goooooo!!!

Spend some time on a bike, and you will be shocked at how much damage drivers do to street signage, all located well outside the roadway. These examples are all within about 100 yards of each other on the most popular biking route in the East Bay.

Good morning. Here is a breakfast sandwich you should absolutely eat today. The mortadella and Serrano pepper egg sandwich from Larakin in Midtown. Also extremely solid patio vibes.

Be a better neighbor by following one small step, do not park on the sidewalk unnecessarily like this. Park on the damn street.

Sick new rooftops coming to Reynoldstown 👀

Just as we did not vote on if the people could buy a house to move into a neighborhood, those same people should not be able to sway if more people can move in or add homes to the same neighborhood.

Econ Dev guy here. M'side neighbors aggrieved by Amst Walk ignore that the Beltline increased our home values a lot - and squeezed out thousands of low-income renters. High time to counter with affordable BL units. Those won't lower our values. Even if they did, by much less than we gained. #GApol
