It was commented to me this week that I seem incapable of celebrating accomplishments at work. The never ending nature of the eternal IT project keeps me from seeing the milestones as wins. I only see them as a stop on an eternal roadmap.

Year end reviews almost done with my team. Getting mine next week, interested to hear what my first six months as the leader of this large and diverse team has been seen as. Still the hardest, and most rewarding job I've ever had.

The action in Brave New World was slow and gritty, and I loved it. Give Mackie a chance to give a character real personality and he nails it. Some obvious and terrible green screening were my only big complaints. You can tell this was probably a very different movie at one point.

Just realized my life insurance through work was much less than I thought it was. Looking at term policies with the idea of prices that I looked at 5+ years ago. Policies that cost $75 a month back then cost $210 a month now. I understand as I get older prices goes up but god damn Eat the rich.

Listen, if god didn't want me to eat 6 candy canes over the past few days then they wouldn't have been sitting next to my workstation at my parent's house while I'm visiting. It's just science. Also I am 5 years old and love candy that tastes like toothpaste apparently.

401k vesting should only apply if the employee chooses to leave. Workers should be protected from having their money stolen by a company that decides to let them go for anything that isn't illegal.
