I'm thinking I might upgrade my PC with my meager tax return. I can't afford the absurd price to upgrade from my 3070, but I can afford a new CPU, motherboard, and ram. Feels like the ideal time to get stuff before shit gets real expensive across the board.

I have the loveliest conversations with my brother and his wife when we are all buzzed or drunk. Real heart-on-the-sleeve type shit. Yeah it's sad we don't take the opportunity to talk at that level otherwise, but I am so so grateful that we do at all. Love those guys.

I just finished book #2 of the new sun by gene wolfe, and it is so good. It is everything I want in fantasy: cryptic names/terms without over-explaining setting, tons of plot hooks, unpredictable interruptions to the perceived plot

this is likely 75% nostalgia speaking, but: 90s grunge feels like the last time that music consisting of feelings, emotion, angst, melancholy felt genuine and raw, AND had wide mass commercial appeal and success. A few bands/albums since then come to mind, but nothing on the scale of an entire genre

Normally my pieces with mixed clays behave like expect. However, this beast was special. At cone 12, the egg popped out its mouth, rolled across the shelf, and into the coal bed. I was crushed when I unloaded the #trainkiln and saw it missing. I didn’t realize it would be intact and perfect!
