I reviewed the latest Yann Tiersen album for @spectrumculture.bsky.social - starts out familiarly, ends in a quite different place.

Periodically I like to remind myself that at this exact moment there are at least a dozen AMAZING things happening that I have no idea about. Miraculous, life-affirming, stunning, stupendous things. Just because I'm not looking at them as they happen, it doesn't mean they aren't real.

I’ve been watching Americans on YouTube learn that Europeans get several weeks paid leave per annum, maternity pay, paternity pay, sick pay and free healthcare at the point of use. They were amazed at how much cheaper our food is and that we walk places. They didn’t comprehend electric kettles.

I feel strongly about this. All bodies can be lovable; I know because I’ve loved people with all kinds of bodies and because I have been loved. Don’t sideswipe good people in your rush to slam him. It’s his actions and rhetoric that makes him unlovable. Harsh on those.
