Does anyone else actively avoid using Gmail's auto suggestions? Even if I was going to write that, we're doing something different now.

Before the election I ranted about how the Australian National Party was a scam - offering nothing to country voters in a blatant ruse to elect Liberal (i.e., conservative) governments. I’m happy the National’s leadership finally came around to the same conclusion.

Want to understand State Machine Testing and property testing better? This old talk from lockdown days might help, where I implement a simple QuickCheck with State Machine Testing a la Hedgehog from scratch.

Loved the Australian Election results. A blow over the conservatives was smashing given world affairs. It looks like the Greens will have the balance of power in the senate which is great. But there's something I'm salty about: them ironically killing the best chance on Climate Change we've had.

@albomp.bsky.social can we talk about the critically endangered swift parrot. Your government has made a pledge towards no more extinctions, but there are no breeding programs set up despite their numbers dropping to just 300. They migrate from Tasmania to NSW, so a federal response is required.

Just awful. I’ve recently been helping care for some of these guys and they really are spectacular. So selfish, so cruel.

Who is this fun friend? Their web is around 7 metres wide, from the basketball hoop to the house in Sydney, Australia.

Did my good deed for today as makeshift roofer – helped my Dad install new roofing for his solarium.

I got accepted by my local Zoo for a volunteer zoo-keeping position today! If all goes well, it's one day a week and I'll be doing a TAFE course in Animal Care for the next year. I'm exited to start volunteering in conservation and animal care.

I couldn't find my ring (it used to be my grandmother's) for a whole day, because it was under some lettuce in the veggie crisper.

I've been researching a new optimisation technique I'm calling "A Stitch in Time". It performs Copy Elision in my programming language Icicle. Might be interested for #Koka and #Lean, as I think it could help in pure, references-counted, languages too.

Where's the @atproto.com team at with the two big features which tie a lot to FB... photos and events. I feel like a proper event invitation service would be a killer.

Ok Blue Sky, let's go. I was never big on shitter, and want to leave Zuckistan too. Let's get to know each other.
