Before the election I ranted about how the Australian National Party was a scam - offering nothing to country voters in a blatant ruse to elect Liberal (i.e., conservative) governments. I’m happy the National’s leadership finally came around to the same conclusion.

Loved the Australian Election results. A blow over the conservatives was smashing given world affairs. It looks like the Greens will have the balance of power in the senate which is great. But there's something I'm salty about: them ironically killing the best chance on Climate Change we've had.

@albomp.bsky.social can we talk about the critically endangered swift parrot. Your government has made a pledge towards no more extinctions, but there are no breeding programs set up despite their numbers dropping to just 300. They migrate from Tasmania to NSW, so a federal response is required.

I got accepted by my local Zoo for a volunteer zoo-keeping position today! If all goes well, it's one day a week and I'll be doing a TAFE course in Animal Care for the next year. I'm exited to start volunteering in conservation and animal care.

I've been researching a new optimisation technique I'm calling "A Stitch in Time". It performs Copy Elision in my programming language Icicle. Might be interested for #Koka and #Lean, as I think it could help in pure, references-counted, languages too.
