Just watched Golden Boy. Pretty funny and surprisingly lets the jokes breathe with slow pacing most of the time so the absurdity pays off more. The first and last episodes were probably the best and I didn't expect the story to come full circle and pay off at the end.

Finished Orguss 02 and really liked it! Two nations go to war using future-tech they excavate from ruins. The world and animation quality were great. Character designs were fantastic. I wanted a few more episodes of this one, because the resolution felt too rushed.

Just released a short UPDATE video for anyone interested! youtu.be/sAmM0E7ejW0

Just finished Super Dimension Century Orguss. Overall, I enjoyed its mostly bubbly comedic tone and colorful/bizarre world. Tons of padding to the story and frequent reused animation. The ending was so abrupt and vague that the journey didn't entirely feel worth it.

New video! "The Origami Killer (Heavy Rain) | Devious Intent", where we take a deep dive into this heavily flawed villain and all the routes the story can take him. youtu.be/tG92NRGbpWM Thumbnail art by @atro.bsky.social!

Just read Batman: Hush. Not normally a comic guy, but I wanted to try this one because I always thought this villain was cool in the Arkham games. It ended up being more of a rundown on Batman's history than it was a good mystery, since that aspect fell a little flat by the end.

Just watched the 2nd Tenchi Muyo OVA (1994). Amazing character and mechanical designs; the world is just beautiful. Pretty funny and even dramatic when it wants to be. The fun is in how it takes the mundane countryside of Japan and blends it with insane space opera concepts.

Just finished watching Bubblegum Crisis (1987). Enjoyable for its mechanical designs, fight scenes, and music. I had high expectations, but the writing could have been a lot better and only a few characters stood out to me. The boomers still looked sick though.

I commissioned this amazing Carmelita Fox (Sly Cooper) from @chzzei.bsky.social!

Just watched the Gunsmith Cats OVA from 1995! Very similar subject matter and content to Riding Bean but even more lighthearted and you get more than one episode. Rally is a great main character and it was fun to see how the team would one-up their enemies over and over again.

Just watched the Riding Bean OVA from 1989. Really charming package that delivers the intricate gun & vehicle animations you're looking for. The story didn't have any lofty ambitions, just a solid one-off adventure.

As a follow-up to the last one, I commissioned Elise (MadWorld) from @chzzei.bsky.social!

Glad you guys liked the recent batch of videos! The next two videos are already being edited and they’ll both probably come out in February.

If you watched until the end, you might have seen this alternate thumbnail art I had commissioned for the Fear Effect video from @inkuusan.bsky.social!

New video! "Fear Effect | Your Next Favorite", where he shed some light on an underrated series of PS1 games which you might recognize from their original magazine ads. youtu.be/FuWVbDMYFDo

New video! "Respect the Original Assassin's Creed", where we highlight the many unique elements that made this first game so captivating. youtu.be/VWoCsiKULhU

Wow, this new video outperformend my last 5 in less than a day. Thanks, everyone!

New video! "Infamous vs Prototype | 15 Years Later", where we take a look back at the rivalry between these two games that everyone was comparing back in the day!

I commissioned Mistral (Metal Gear Rising) from @atro.bsky.social!

Just beat Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii) and got all 6 endings. They focused on honing a more exciting combat system compared to Odin Sphere. I liked how little reused content there was across both campaigns. Art was great, but I didn't really know what was going on during the story.

You know I had to commission Krystal (Star Fox: Assault) from @inkuusan.bsky.social!

Just beat Star Fox: Assault. It was better than I expected, but nothing crazy. This is probably the coolest portrayal of this universe. The on-foot shooting controls were a bit janky and you could tell that a lot of stuff was made for multiplayer. I liked all of the team banter.

I just wanna say, as soon as they released that PS5 Pro, my normal PS5's built-in disc drive conveniently stopped working and now I can't play a bunch of my games.

TheSpoonyOne is one of my favorite reviewers of all time, but his videos from the last couple years he was active have such an uncomfortable energy to them for some reason.

Just beat Odin Sphere for PS2 (True Ending). Amazing visuals and captivating world. Love all of the little resource management elements related to cooking/growing plants. Areas did get repetitive after a while and some bosses were really frustrating due to intense slowdown.

I commissioned Juliet (Lollipop Chainsaw) from @inkuusan.bsky.social back when I beat it over PS3 emulation!

After beating the first 3 Tomb Raider games, I commissioned classic Lara Croft from @inkuusan.bsky.social!

Kessler (inFAMOUS) | Devious Intent youtu.be/N86TNc6fU-E

I commissioned Laughing Octopus (Metal Gear Solid 4) from @chzzei.bsky.social. Thanks again!

SAW 2 | Your Next Favorite youtu.be/w61XlJb4sZk

I commissioned Carmelita Fox (Sly Cooper) from @inkuusan.bsky.social. It turned out great!

Yakuza: Like a Dragon | Your Next Favorite youtu.be/h1T4Nza_Fng

Last year, I commissioned this Ada (Resident Evil 4) from @inkuusan.bsky.social!

Just beat Star Fox: Adventures. Mostly solid, but gets repetitive towards the end with the final boss being an ass-pull. It was cool to see the universe fleshed out more, but a lot of its shortcomings would've been forgiven if it was an original IP as intended. Krystal was nice!

I commissioned Ken Marinaris (Zone of the Enders 2) from @chzzei.bsky.social!

Shadow the Hedgehog | Devious Intent youtu.be/QpE3fxKN3Mw

After replaying No More Heroes 2, I decided to commission Shinobu from @atro.bsky.social!

King Bohan (Heavenly Sword) | Devious Intent youtu.be/Z_VyDRZ5MzA

I had to commission Dr. Naomi (No More Heroes 2) from @inkuusan.bsky.social!

Was feeling nostalgic, so I commissioned Pepper Box (Dreamcast, Evolution Series) from @inkuusan.bsky.social!

Here’s a Halloween themed commission of Eileen (Silent Hill 4) that I got from @chzzei.bsky.social
