The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other

absolutely disgusting to erase trans people from history anywhere but this is a new low check the post quoted by parker to tell them that we will not accept this and to do their job of preserving history truthfully

i am getting spam followed by crypto bots, literally six of them just today and probably more to come. it's an easy block but still annoying — do people really have nothing better to do lol

this is great news — never comply in advance, and unfortunately institutions tend to bend to fascists' will so legal pressure that doing so is illegal is great hoping to see more state AGs join this soon

Listen to the doctors: “It’s not about evidence-based medicine…. It’s not about saving lives of young people. It’s about fearmongering and hate of people who are different.” www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

thanks for the heads up

it really is disheartening and sad to see people not only cheat but explicitly tell him to his face that they don't respect his work @was.tl, thank you so much for all the work you've put into making the AoC such an incredible contest 💜

Holy moly. MAGA is losing their mind over an uncovered video from 2016 where Donald Trump says people should use the bathroom they feel is inappropriate and speaks out against trans bathroom bills. Feel free to share this so MAGA implodes.

Worth noting: Brooke Slusser, the player involved in the lawsuit against her own teammate (who is trans), didn’t talk to WaPo or SF Chronicle or ESPN. The NYT is the first non-Fox News/Outkick/Fox affiliate she’s talked to. Which says a lot about what the NYT has become: a safe space for transphobes

The thing that keeps getting me about all the pieces fretting about Bluesky being too insular is that the argument seems to be that those of us who are most likely to be abused by the right (BIPOC people, trans people, queer people, etc) must put up with being abused for the sake of public discourse

Is Schumer still Senate Majority Leader or has he prematurely ceded that role to the Republicans? Schumer’s priority should be filling all judicial vacancies during this final session, even if it means working late nights, weekends, and after the holidays to get around the Senate GOP’s obstruction.

Whenever we make ourselves smaller for them, they just shrink our box again.

First, they came for the immigrants, and I did not speak out— Because I was not an immigrant. Then they came for the homeless, and I did not speak out— Because I was not homeless. Then they came for the... Are we really going to sit back and just watch this?

URGENT UPDATE ❗️❗️ CALL TO ACTION ❗️❗️ House Republicans plan to reintroduce HR 9495 TODAY, November 20th. Indivisible has an awesome tool to help you contact your Representative and tell them to VOTE NO on HR 9495. indivisible.org/resource/tel...

the GOP trying to cheat democracy to win, again? somehow i'm not surprised. this is just "stop the count" v2 — a party now operating on disinformation and fear- and hate-mongering count every vote. democracy must be upheld good work, bob casey 🇺🇸 💙

it's international transgender day of remembrance today. so many have lost their lives to transphobia just wanting to be left alone trans rights are human rights do not let them be forgotten. the fight must never stop for our freedom 🏳️‍⚧️ hyperneutrino.xyz/blog/2024-11... youtu.be/FMsQ0YDGFyQ

Good to see school boards pushing back. Access to comprehensive sexual health is a human right. Education reduces risk and improves health. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Black trans activist and entertainer Sir Lady Java has died at age 82. Born in New Orleans in 1942, she rose to prominence in the 1960s when fighting against cross-dressing laws with the support of the ACLU. May she rest in power. ✊🏾🏳️‍⚧️ www.them.us/story/sir-la... #QTPOC #LGBTQIA #BlackWomen

If House Republicans really wanted to protect women, they'd release the Ethics Committee report on Matt Gaetz' alleged sex trafficking - not try to ban their colleagues from using the bathroom. Stop the bigotry and release the report.

A good litmus tear for how informed you are about trans athletes is whether or not you previously knew that no sports governing body has ever produced a study of actual trans bodies to justify banning trans women from sports.

absolutely true 🎯 📌 besides — we shouldn't need to die for people to see how bad things are go follow assigned media if you want news for trans people by trans people — i strongly recommend them trans rights are human rights 🏳️‍⚧️

i am continually thankful for what a cis woman friend told me early in transition, “honey, all of femininity is shadowplay. it’s ropes & pulleys & holsters. being a woman is tricking men into seeing what you need them to see so that you fight another day. now put on the fucking shapewear.”

United we stand, divided we fall.

something quite enlightening i saw a while ago: the paradox of tolerance stops being a paradox from a social contract angle break the contract by harming others and you're no longer protected by it either don't let people push the idea that hate must be engaged with and we are the unwelcoming ones

A politics of refusal has never been more needed. Just refusing to go along with the bullshit. Period.

The Trump admin threats to end birthright citizenship should be a wake up call that we are post law. The 14th amendment is unambiguous. Everyone born in the United States is a citizen. If they can strip citizenship from newborns, they can do it to anyone.

do not let fascism take even an inch of ground. control starts with information and your information in their hands empowers them www.wired.com/story/the-wi...
