My reading chair is now the kitten bed #caturday

The mobile lab from a couple of days ago. Arduino Rev 2 WiFi, piezo buzzer, and a sadly empty coffee cup.

Promised myself a replacement for a somewhat old, tired machine for a new project. Also went a got two new furry companions. This is the braver one.

Sad to say that this little furry one has gone.

Went for my longest run on the shortest day. A #wintersolstice practice that helps clear my head for next year.

I'll be giving a talk that provides an outline for a new project. More when I see the public announcement.

This evening's venue.

Winter truly begins with the Mediaeval Baebes tour. Catching them at a church this evening.

Read the latest Stunlaw blogpost last night on #criticalcodestudies from @berrydm.bsky.social. So much in this, though wondering if my own attempts were more like listening to the removed aspects of turning wav into mp3s. Hmm. Must try harder? stunlaw.blogspot.com/2024/12/refl...

Enjoyed the Conversation post from @noortjem.bsky.social on #ai and #aiinthestreet: theconversation.com/five-ways-yo.... Disclosure: I also worked on the project but I discovered new things in this post.

I have just heard about the Fair MuSe project ( fairmuse.eu) who appear to be using #datadonation to look at music streaming: portal.fairmuse.eu. Documentation and recipes on the second link.

Everyone shifting from Twitter to Bluesky shows how easily you can "lose" your posted and viewed content. As someone involved in research, I think you should set up your own website to preserve the tidbits of information you want to last longer. Here's hopefully a helpful page to get you started:

#caturday begins. At least my coffee and a book are in reach.

Word of the day is ‘quiddler’ (19th century): one who pays great attention to trivial matters as a way of avoiding the important ones.

Had another abstract acceptance for a journal to write a #criticaltechnical piece on the #unheardcity app (unheardcity.org.uk) that I created a while ago. Will post more details as they emerge.

I recently had an abstract accepted for the MOCReN conference that explores parts of Stability AI as a #platform #ecology. Now to write the paper.

The DMC software app lab made mobile for yesterday's events with @noortjem.bsky.social . The truth about the update will become apparent tomorrow.
