A mysterious global countdown hijacks every TV. Phones go dead. Internet vanishes. A fractured family hides in a mountain cabin, but the real horror isn’t what’s coming… it’s what’s already inside. #screenpit #scriptsky #ho #fea

Finished dusting off an old horror script, EXPIRE. Took the last two weeks to do a page one rewrite. Minimalist approach for maximum impact. #FirstPageFriday #scriptsky

Camille - First screenplay. Wrote it in college. Set on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi in 1969 in the days leading to Hurricane Camille. Sort of an ensemble story about a group of neighbors living in an apartment complex… and the Dixie Mafia using the storm as a front to run drugs.

New WIP is a heist movie. Late 60s vibe with a modern take. Working on a treatment but had trouble visualizing the crew. So, I made baseball trading cards for the team. On the back… traits, skills, roles, strengths, & weaknesses. I can now mix & match cards based on who’s in the scene. #scriptsky

Had an absolute blast making this spot with editor Angela Hammer. Watching & listening to Mae West every day for a month certainly brought out the laughs. Good Times! youtube.com/watch?v=Azg3...

Beyond proud of everything we accomplished this week. Best Fest Yet! #tcmff

Opening Night Red Carpet… Won & Done. And front row for George Lucas. Helluva way to start the Festival. #tcmff

Four hours in and already laying down on the job. #tcmff

Ready or Not Here I Come… You Can’t Hide. Early morning camera gear prep. Getting this show on the road. #tcmff

Flipped the camera dial to God Mode. Selected the “Only Great Shots" feature. Bags packed. TCM Classic Film Festival here I come. #tcmff #filmsky #scriptsky

GENRE I WRITE BEST: Southern Drama GENRE I WISH I WROTE BETTER: Action-Adventure GENRE I COULD NEVER WRITE: Horror (I’ve done it, just not the right brain space for me.) #scriptsky

Fireside date night under the wisteria. Grooving to our Record Store Day haul. Breezing through some Elmore Leonard. There’s a definite vibe on the back porch tonight… and it’s every bit all right with me.

Been struggling all week with breaking this new script idea, but just had that eureka moment. It’s like looking at a fuzzy image and someone handing you prescription glasses… I can see the movie so clearly from start to finish now. #scriptsky

Debating if I can write a genre script that subverts all the genre elements. Like having a puzzle with the most cliche image of a Western movie, but then flipping over all the pieces and trying to solve the puzzle solely from the backside. It’s a head-scratcher. #scriptsky

Surrender the Stars As his friends drift toward adolescence, a desperate thirteen-year-old leads them on one last summer adventure to capture a wish-granting star he hopes can save his dying grandfather. Comps: Stand By Me, Lord of the Flies, E.T. #scriptsky #screenpit #fea

Surrender the Stars Reckless youth. One last summer to be wild. A war in the woods against neighboring delinquents. Prisoners to generational trauma. A falling star that could save them all… if they believe they can catch it. Comps: Stand By Me, Lord of the Flies, E.T. #scriptsky #screenpit #fea

Had a window between kids’ practices & games. So, I printed a list of 25 questions to ask my new main character and went for a walk. No writing just pondering. Taking the time to walk a mile in their shoes… in this case, seven miles. Feeling physically and mentally blessed. #scriptsky

My youngest daughter wanted to practice her drawings, so we packed up her art supplies. We had a day full of little adventures and drew all the fun. Wonderful way to spend a Sunday.

After a year dedicated to my latest screenplay, I finally sent it off to a filmmaker. Out into the world at last! Giving myself permission to take it easy, watch movies, read… but of course, my brain’s already asking what’s next. That biopic? The 1930s ghost story? Fancy a short sci-fi? #scriptsky

Screenwriting in the park on a wonderfully warm afternoon, waiting for my lovely wife to join me for a round of drinks at the local brewery nearby. Simple pleasures, maximum joy. #scriptsky

Over heard at lunch today… “Are you the Destructor?” “What is your perception of Evil?” “When I rose to power, I became a King. Are you ready to become the next King?” Turns out these two men were discussing franchising a Planet Fitness. When did Planet Fitness become so Game of Thrones?

Sharing a series concept trailer I cut a couple years ago. This was a thrill to put together. I still have hope for the women of Belles. #scriptsky vimeo.com/500829995

Didn’t make the semis at the Atlanta Film Festival. Was bummed for a bit. But, Surrender the Stars felt like the script where I truly found my find my voice. And my next screenplay Palace is finished. Deep in Rewriting. I’m pushing further, breaking boundaries, and crafting something magical.

If you couldn’t find your writing muse today… I got tough news for you. All y’all’s muses were riding shotgun with me the whole dang day. We hit the highways and raised some absolute holy screenwriting hell. Best pages I’ve written. Ain’t sorry! #scriptsky

My coming-of-age feature screenplay made the Atlanta Film Festival Quarterfinals. Nice reminder to keep the pen to the paper. The story draws inspiration from Lord of the Flies and Stand By Me. #atlff #scriptsky
