Does anyone know what my problem is

Of course, the administration is lying its ass off when it says it can’t get the guy back from El Salvador. They could get him back just by asking and everyone knows it. This is flagrant defiance of the law, his rights, and court orders.

Someone once said NextDoor is the social network for dogs if they could type. It’s always “what’s that noise?” and “who’s that stranger?” which is exactly what I imagine my dogs would text other neighborhood dogs.

I wonder what would happen to me if a federal judge said I had to give them information by an hour ago and I just kept not doing it

In September 2021, Texas banned nearly all abortions. A JAMA Pediatrics study found that, between 2021 and 2022, infant deaths in Texas surged 12.9%, compared with a much smaller increase in the rest of the US of 1.8%. Infant mortality rates rose 8.3%. www.cnn.com/2024/06/24/h...

Dogs are great because they’re basically like 21% Samwise Gamgee, 17% stress ball, 12% Chewbacca, and 50% just happy to be here

important context about the concentration camps in el salvador:

The president told a Central American dictator to build five more massive slave labor camps to hold US citizens.

Holy shit. Video posted by President Bukele’s team on X shows the moments before his press conference with Trump in which Trump tells him: “We want to do homegrown criminals next. You gotta build about five more places.” (h/t @titonka.bsky.social @michelekelemen.bsky.social)

Seriously folks he was recorded saying Bukele needs to build more space because he is moving "home growns" next.

The purging of IT and cybersecurity staff at the Department of Health and Human Services could threaten the systems used by the agency’s staff and the safety of critical health data. www.wired.com/story/depart...

about 90% of culture war grievances is literally just people with nothing happening in their lives getting mad that other people are not as unhappy as they are

What was it called again? Google circle?

republicans are disappearing people under the guise of fighting antisemitism and can’t even pretend to give a fuck when a jewish governor’s house gets firebombed on passover

Here is how WaPo handled Dem's 10-day long effort to count every vote in PA vs. GOP's 5-month long effort to throw out thousands of votes in NC. Support independent, pro-democracy media.

I’m not a lawyer or anything but I feel like you can draw a pretty direct line from John Yoo being allowed to slip back into the comforts of tenure and the occasional NYT oped to what’s happening with the CECOT and doj

Bring them home. Bring them all home now.

He's manufacturing chaos because he has nothing to offer. No vision. No ideas. No interest in building anything. Just tearing down what others have built.

This is a concession by the U.S. government that its “arrangement” with El Salvador is irrevocable. To me this has to be grounds to argue that the arrangement itself is unconstitutional under the Fifth and Eighth Amendments

@inthelittlewood.bsky.social thank you so much for all you're doing for GfG!! I wish your voice all the rest and most soothing honey tea possible

Another question, other than the obvious wage slavery of it all, is... why? Why do we need them mining and refining materials? They'll say it's so they can make the "AI revolution" go faster, but to what end? Why is any of this happening? None of this needs to or should happen.

And to be clear- the US is their home. Bring them all home.

A president who has the power to send an innocent human being to a foreign concentration camp, but claims he lacks the power to bring them back, is committing the crime of false imprisonment.

It's as if we lent someone our credit card and they ruined our credit.

How many Martha Mitchells will they have?

The path toward denaturalizing citizens goes hand-in-hand with undermining birthright citizenship. This is authoritarianism. If legal scholars care about the rule of law, we should not give support under any circumstances these flagrant abuses of human rights. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

im no gordon gekko or anything but i feel like a stable government that invests in education and infrastructure would be better for business than whatever the fuck is happening now
