I don’t know why anyone would be a teacher if they weren’t passionate about learning. It’s so hard and the pay is terrible.

Ugh, how frustrating. I fortunately knew even that young that it was ridiculous, and I guess as a blessing it kept me from feeling like I had to be perfect, at least as far as grades were concerned. I had several other bogus grades in high school, too.

Reminds me of the Bloody Monday protests during Vietnam. It’s encouraging to know they haven’t all lost their minds. There’s hope yet.

It probably goes along with not being allowed to fail. When you’re taught that success and winning are all that matter, you find ways to justify your mistakes until eventually that becomes your truth. We shouldn’t be embarrassed when things don’t go as planned as long as we learn from it.

Now they’re just going to walk around in their letterman jacket for the rest of their days.

You have opportunity after opportunity to create something lovely for yourself or others. Every moment you choose to sit and think about horrors beyond your control, every time you make the choice to look for more and more details about just HOW bad... you are turning away from those opportunities.

Nope. I’ll just have my every move between set and the bathroom narrated over walkie. But at least it won’t be in my ears 😂

This is VERY important for anyone you know affected by the Los Angeles fires who is currently raising funds on GoFundMe:
FEMA does not cover expenses already paid for by other sources. So be careful with how you word your fundraisers—this has affected people who survived other natural disasters.

It seems like this organization was created specifically to help them get jobs upon release. It was started by a formerly incarcerated firefighter (who also just lost his home, I shared his GFM on my feed). They might be able to help you find ways to help them.

I don’t know this man. I randomly clicked on a campaigns and found him. Since 2015 he’s been helping formerly incarcerated people find work in fire and forestry. He likely helped recruit many of the heroes of this week. These are the amazing people in this city.

If they are overwhelmed, I believe you can submit on their behalf, too

Please make sure to also submit them for GoFundMe’s grant for additional funds: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
