For those despairing over the increasing information chaos online, there's several simple, brilliant, easy-to-argue suggestions in this piece by "Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible" author Peter Pomerantsev: " www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Very interesting to listen to some detailed economic analysis from Vicky Price on @quietriotpod.bsky.social today. It would be good to complement this - particularly to look at the underlying causes of inflation - from someone outside mainstream liberal economics like @macrodosepod.bsky.social

I don’t listen to mayny #SAFC podcasts these days but I really enjoyed hearing Martin from @safc-nasa.bsky.social and on Black Cats Chat today. Nice pod focused on us Sunlun fans who don’t live in England and can’t get to every game podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/b...

“It would probably not be beyond human ingenuity to write books by machinery. [That is probably how] the literature of a totalitarian society would be produced… Imagination — even consciousness — would be eliminated from the process of writing.” George Orwell #writing #writingcommunity #art #ai

This opening paragraph really made me laugh 🤣

5 year anniversary of working in #academia today. When I left practice it felt like an ending, but It’s changed my world, my perspectives and my professional identity! It’s the differences you make to others that really makes it so rewarding, just like practice! #nurse #academic

BS Johnson liked to claim this distinction. In his play You're Human Like the Rest of Them (2 Feb 1969, BBC 2), the main character is listening to Radio 4 when The Archers comes on. It's announced as 'an everyday story of country - ' but the character turns the radio off after the first syllable.

It’s that special time of year where I tell you about 19th century Christmas cards being so batshit weird! Here’s a podcast I did with Dr Ferren Gipson - expect clowns assaulting cops, polar bears savaging men, giant wasps attacking kids, and more weird animal fun! artuk.org/discover/sto...

KLD has donated £2,000 to the #SoupKitchen24 appeal. He’s a good lad. #SAFC ❤️🤍

Using a bit of Augmented reality for anatomy revision this week! A great way to visualise structures.

The more this place reminds me of why I liked social media so much the more I realise that I stopped doing so a long time ago. It’s extraordinary what happened. The volume & violence of posts from accounts you had never shown the slightest interest in just exploded. It *must* have been deliberate.

Day five of following all Sunderland fans back on Bluesky. Drop this post a share so fellow supporters can find you. #SAFC

I’ve been working on some youtube revsion aids for my #nursing students. Let me know what you think? #anatomy #cardiac m.youtube.com/watch?v=ROJf...

“…low levels of nurse staffing in hospital wards were associated with an increased risk of death. Having sufficient seniority and experience within the nursing team was important, but it did not provide a strategy to mitigate the adverse effects of staff shortfalls”🩺📟 jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...
