It's now only three months until the start of the world's leading T20 franchise tournament* *in sub-Arctic and Arctic territories

Later this summer, the Lord's Test between India and England will unfortunately clash on 10th July with the match between Ukraine and ourselves. No doubt this will prove disastrous for ticket sales at the world's most famously sloping ground.

After all the build-up and talk about the blockbuster clash between two cricketing powerhouses, we are finally underway. Oman 2/1 after 1 over versus USA.

South Africa signalling their title winning potential. We've seen it before

The great thing about the ODI is that you have time to get your eye in and make a match-winning score. It's like watching lava flowing at all its possible speeds. Gill has produced a superb hand for India today.

We would *love* to host the TMS team at our match against @icelandcricket.bsky.social in Warsaw in July 🏏 We understand we clash with a Test at Lord's. But we guarantee tastier cakes...

When you live on a frozen volcanic rock in the North Atlantic, surrounded by more sheep than people, it does not matter if you are wrong. The show goes on. That goes for cricket here too.

Iceland II off and running in style! A roast for the hosts.

We officially declare that Iceland II (New Zealand), the land of fire and ice down south, are going to win the Champions Trophy of 2025. No pressure.

After all the build up, the Champions Trophy finally gets underway tomorrow, with an exciting clash between the hosts (for most matches) and Iceland II (New Zealand). We are entirely unbiased in our judgments.

People often talk about what is necessary to succeed at the highest level of the game, but rarely about the lack of qualities needed to fail in its lowest tiers.

One day, the cricketing world will have no choice but to bow down to the decisions of the new big 3 of Greenland, Faroe Islands and Iceland. If Jan Mayen ups its game, they can become the new Zimbabwe.

On 10 July 2025, two big cricketing rivals meet at an iconic venue 🏏 No, not England vs. India at Lord's. We mean Iceland vs. Ukraine in Warsaw. The match is for Ukrainian humanitarian causes – and to support @icelandcricket.bsky.social's push for ICC membership. Watch this space for updates 🇮🇸🏏🇺🇦

The one thing that makes us different to other national boards is that we are primarily fan-focused. We want everyone to enjoy cricket and have opportunities to play and watch the game regardless of their location on the planet. It's not too much to ask.

We do not yet have a good record against other nations, having only beaten Switzerland in 2018. We have lost to Estonia (twice), Hungary (twice), Malta, and Czech Republic. In 2025, we will try against a different set of teams - Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Our ball sponsor for the 2025 outdoor season will be the Indian Food Box. Located in Reykjavík, the Indian Food Box was formed during the pandemic and continues to grow from strength to strength, providing a popular assortment of traditional dishes at a competitive price.

We have exciting international matches planned this summer. The main attention grabber is likely to be our planned match against Ukraine on 10th July. The Euro Cup follows on 11-13th July against Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.

Many people ask us when we are going to become ICC associate members. Our Board have resolved to be ready to apply, with all boxes ticked, in the summer of 2026.

We are pleased to announce that this evening we have reappointed Nolan Williams as our national team coach for 2025. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, both from his days playing county second team cricket for Essex, and latterly as coach during our tour of Estonia.

Iceland has been ranked the world's most peaceful nation every year since 2008. We have no oil, no precious metals, almost no minerals, no military, and hardly any people. We have cricket. That's the key to being a successful nation.

A lot of people wonder how much ice there is in Iceland. Glaciers cover 4,400 square miles (11,400 km²), which is about 11% of our country's land area.

The thing about ODI cricket is that 50 overs is longer than a lot of modern teams can bat in Tests. It wasn't like this in the Icelandic Sagas, when some knattleikr matches lasted weeks. Admittedly, often only a few players were still alive at the end of it.

The highest ranked nation among the Nordics is currently Norway, who are the 39th best mens T20 team in the world. Denmark are 41st, Sweden 56th, Finland are 57th, and we are unranked.

How wonderful it is in recent times to see more batters reverting to wearing caps against spin. There really is very little need for a helmet against such bowlers unless you are attempting a slog sweep on a lava field.

Yesterday we had a very rare weather phenomenon in Iceland, especially in winter: Thunder and lightning during a 'red' weather alert.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who purchased our new national team jersey or any other merchandise items. All proceeds that we receive go towards the development of cricket in Iceland. We hope you enjoy wearing the attire!

Today is the final day. The pre-order window will close in about 18 hours.

We had a chance this afternoon to take a look at the pitch. Bowl first.

Are you a great cricketer if you haven't made runs in Iceland?

There are now just 48 hours to go in the pre-order purchase window for our 2025 national team jersey

How to make your batters suffer...come to Iceland, where we will gladly use white balls, white sightscreens, and white backgrounds.

Winter continues in Iceland. Our first outdoor matches are in exactly 3 months.

One thing we know is we would gladly give concussion to all our players if they transformed overnight into world class talents.

What is the worst umpiring decision you have ever seen?

Steve Smith versus Sachin Tendulkar. Uncannily similar Test stats after 205 innings. However, only Sachin has holidayed in Iceland, and that's probably why he is 220 runs ahead.

We are approaching the final weekend and last 5 days in which you can pre-order our 2025 national team jersey. Worldwide distribution!

Australia's women are currently 219 runs clear of England, and Ellyse Perry has neither batted nor bowled yet.

We are starting to believe that it's not luck and these Australian women cricketers are actually very, very good.

Things that don't get said very often in Test cricket... Three bowlers desperately trying to avoid conceding a double century of runs.

Name a cricketer who has been frozen out like this Icelandic snowman

The Icelandic child looks proud, but unfortunately, he has a bent arm, and thus the umpire has called a giant snow ball.
