I'm fortunate enough to have a peaceful and comfortable life, but the dichotomy between the rhythms of everyday life, and larger events is dizzying. Pace yourself for a long fight, and be kind to yourselves.

Tough times for United #mufc supporters, but we should be used to that by now. Still hopeful but this season can end now as we're closer to relegation than European qualification. I'm confident that Amorim will bring united back, but I suspect more misery before the smiles come back.

Wow. A poor United #MUFC beat an even poorer City. United understandably poor given they're learning a new system. City, losing 8 out of 11, equally mystifying and hysterical. Manchester is Red.

I'm a sucker for a great mash-up and this is one of my favorites: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYNS...

As a Welshman living in the US, I appreciate getting a few days off work but Thanksgiving seems like a lot of fuss and stress. Anyway, beautiful sunset.

Sunset at Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge. Quiet before the Thanksgiving fuss.

United have a new manager and hope surges anew, but the bloody international break makes me feel like a kid who gets a bike for Christmas but can't take it out as there's a foot of snow on the ground.

As a born-again chess player my relationship with the game echoes what writers say: It can be hard, frustrating, beautiful, invigorating. An escape, a Zen time or a reminder of my limitations. An endless slog and no doubt fruitless pursuit of perfection along a wonderous and twisting path. Play on.
