New record day! Butterfly - The Music of Butterfly. Butterfly is a collaboration between Harper Simon(son of Paul Simon) and Vincent Gallo. It's a tender and haunting album that uses minimalism and repetition to incite pathos. A perfect late night and chill record. #vinyl

Before fame in films such as E.T, Peter Coyote could be found in the hippie circles of Haight Ashbury as a member of The Diggers - an improv group that also provided free clothes & healthcare to the local citizens. He's largely shunned fame, instead becoming a buddhist priest.

If you're a fan of Werewolves on Wheels, the late 60s/early 70s, and want to read about the freaky goings on during this period that informed the film, check out my article. Thanks🍻

I recently had the honour of writing a piece about Werewolves on Werewolves for Flixology101 @flixology.bsky.social, where I contextualise this horror in the post-Manson landscape of 1971. Check it out! Thanks. #horrorsky flixology101.com/f/werewolves...

Much like Bowie, David Johansen was a master at reinvention - whether it was shaping punk rock w/ The New York Dolls, his work as Buster Poindexter or his work on the big screen, David could do it all. In short, a pioneer. RIP legend.

#funfriday While Gene Hackman was most acclaimed for his intense, dramatic performances, he was also adept at comedy, with film like The Birdcage showcasing his 'Funny by not being funny' approach that De Niro used to great effect in Meet The Parents. #genehackman #comedy #film

Fun fact: actor Telly Savalas is synonymous with his lollipop sucking detective Kojak, but did you know, 5 months before Kojak, Savalas could been seen sucking lollipops in Bava's Lisa and The Devil. A habit he had recently started as he had just quit smoking. #horrorcommunity

#NW My Dear Killer (dir. Tonino Valerii, 1972) The nightly giallo watch continues!

#HumpdayHorror The Killing of a Sacred Deer. Lanthimos elevates horror to the realm of Greek tragedy in one of the most unique horror films of the modern age. Traversing themes such as guilt and revenge, TKoaSD is one of the few films to effectively use Kubrickian filmmaking.

Anchor.fm/ifwtpod New ep! We're joined by director DavidWilde who presents his new film Psycho Sex Dolls. But don't worry! We avoid major spoilers and discuss the making of, crowdfunding and working on a micro budget, w/ plenty of behind the scenes stories from David! #horrorsky

#trashploitationtuesday The 4th (or possibly 6th) instalment in the infamous Guinea Pig series, Mermaid In A Manhole explores more poignant and tragic elements of the human experience than its siblings, and is entirely bereft of Charlie Sheen conspiracy theories. For now, at least.

(Wayne) Maybe Perkins should have taken a break after Longlegs. A film at war with itself, unsure of which tone to go for, or how seriously to take its own premise. Not enough laughs to be a true comedy or enough emotional weight to be a true drama. #horrorsky

#NW Death Walks on High Heels (dir. Luciano Ercoli, 1971) A giallo that is moved away from 70s Italy and set, and filmed, predominantly in England/London.

Brigitte Bardot on the front cover of Playboy Italia in 1974 to celebrate her 40th birthday

#NW Short Night of Glass Dolls (dir. Aldo Lado, 1971) Described as 'one of the genre's[giallo] most unusual entries, but one of the best' #firstwatch #giallo #horrorsky

Dario's 'fuck around and find out' method.

Radley Metzger, porno-chic purveyor of perversity, composes The Lickerish Quartet with such a keen eye to aesthetics - nearly every shot being a sumptuous examination of beauty and style. #filmsky

This Sporting Life (1963) isn't only the best film to feature rugby, but also one of the greatest films to come out the British New Wave. Richard Harris gives a defining performance that rivals Brando at his best, and defined the generation of Angry Young Men #SixNationsRugby

#funfriday In one of the most glorious cases of cinematic happenstance, Michael McDonald has suffered onscreen deaths at the hands of both Mike Myers and Michael Myers. This industry really is a trip!

A movie you've watched more than 6 times.

#humpdayhorror An old school horror story straddling the line between science and superstition, posing questions of morality, immortality and the well known pitfalls of playing God. A 2011 remake was planned but never materialised. Thanks to @johnnymains.co.uk for the recommendation!

The dad from Alligator(1980) sure has a lot to answer for... #horrorsky

#TrashploitationTuesday The Canyons Derided in its time as dull, this Schrader/Bret Easton Ellis collaboration ruminating on the 'post-empire' feels increasingly pertinent, & the films purposeful emptiness, becoming more of a premonition. Even the odd casting being a statement

Anchor.fm/ifwtpod New ep! We're joined by friend of the podcast, Cesare Augusto, host of the Rad Revival House podcast to discuss a favourite film of his, and, amazingly our first foray into the world of sword and sorcery, EXCALIBUR!

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and David Lynch, during the production of Lost Highway(1997). Lynch went to Reznor's studio in New Orleans, sans any footage, and described abstract ideas of scenes, for Reznor to interpret musically.

#Valentinesday2025 Happy Valentine's Day folks! What's a romance film you find criminally underrated? How about The Spectacular Now, which brilliantly subverts the cliches of the genre and has an ending that's about as close to perfect as you can get.
