Day 42 (1,419 remain) I tend to be a little superstitious. I have tarot, runes, and a giant Marco Rossi wine jug of fortune cookie fortunes called The Jar of Fate. Yesterday’s runes were: What I have to offer: Raido - The Wheel, Journeys What I need to receive: Hagalaz - Hail, destructive forces.

Day 41 (1,420 remain) These days feel like the turns in a card game or board game where one feels unease, unwilling to commit resources to building or growing. 41 days so far against a Bruise Deck killing and countering our Permanents. It makes it hard to create or plan. That’s their Win Condition.

Day 40 (1,421 remain) For yesterday: I saw a Scotsman argue “freedom” isn’t the same as “access”. The USA has some great medicine and doctors. Does it matter if we can’t afford them? Food is abundant but expensive. Is voting a Right if you need ID and an address? We’ve got Access, not Freedom.

Day 39 (1,422 remain) Discussing bleak things today. Will the country be physically split, like Berlin? How long will it take to heal? They rail against socialism or communism, pointing to The USSR, China, and Cuba. Those are dictatorships. What they dislike is tyranny, not lunches for school kids.

Always remember they're going after trans people not because trans people became too public, not because trans people asked for too much, not because trans people had too many genders, not because trans people were annoying online. They're going after trans people because they lost to gay people.

Day 38 (1,423 remain) I joined my senior high Gay Straight Alliance. I went to Pride. I was in my college’s LGBT group. I went to the state capitol to fight my Representative’s attempt to cut protections against homophobia. After a decade or two, it was less awful. The next four years will be hard.

Day 37 (1,424 remain) I’ve been trying to send more letters, while I can, while stamps are still valid. I’m not certain why I am rejecting the online world of convenience. Is it mid-life? Am I burned out? Have I been missing a feeling of having the item itself? Is inconvenience the missing spice?

Word of the Day is ‘ingordigiousness’ (18th century): extreme greed at the expense of principles.

Let’s go www.yahoo.com/news/no-amaz...

Day 36 (1,425 remain) Tomorrow, Amazon removes your ability to save your purchased Kindle content. For example, I can have purchased Simulacra and Simulation at market price, get only numbers which represent access to it, those can be revoked by Amazon, and I no longer can read it. Theft by irony.

Day 35 (1,426 remain) There are numbers being tossed around for “how much money this federal finance chainsawing is saving us, especially in DEI programs.” It’s likely a much lower number. I’ll also bet it’ll cost a lot more to investigate, harass, and sue anyone noncompliant. Stay noncompliant.

Day 34 (1,427 remain) I’ve heard from a few close friends, that others are entitled to differing opinions, that some kind people might be scared or angry; they don’t understand LGBTQIA+ or BLM. I’ve heard what they say privately. It’s not kind, just quiet. No pitchforks, just rumors. Closed doors.

based on the power suit cuz i think the shoulders fit better

Behold! A tale of lost (and found) technology!

DOGE is like if Fyre Festival was a government agency.

Day 33 (1,428 remain) I keep fantasizing about bringing chunky gadgets and furnishings to community workspaces for mods, repairs, and upgrades. I think the 3D printing community is a good example, as is homemade fashion, and gardening. This is an age in which parts stores may eventually come back.

Day 32 (1,429 remain) A positive change for our future, should we see it, could be that fast dropship, one use, and difficult to repair things may go away. Most devices have a cheap battery that can be recharged. Standard fasteners. Repair shops. What we can keep should eclipse what we can obtain.

Nazi punks fuck off for sure but I'd love for nazis who like other types of music and ones who don't like music at all to also fuck off

this is such a great idea 👇👇👇

Day 31 (1,430 remain) Watching videos about Minnesota in the 1970s is heartening. They moved mountains. We hoped not to go through the same fights again, but we already know we can win them. The force of cooperation is stronger than paranoia and hatred: our in group is bigger. Difficult but doable.

Day 30 (1,431 remain) Dump Stat - <n.,clq.> In RPGs, A character trait given the lowest result or fewer points, in order to make other traits above average. See: “Achilles Heel”, “Flashing Target”. Trump Stat - <n., clq.> A Dump Stat that the character believes is a strength. See: Dunning-Krueger.

Boosting

Day 29 (1,432 remain) DM: You enter a big, ellipsoid chamber. There’s a whiff of spoiled meat and urine. Centered, an officious and dim-looking troll attends a sodden fart of an ogre, adorned with an ersatz crown and using a wood altar for a throne. Player: Roll initiative? DM: Constitution Save.

Day 28 (1,433 remain) Still recuperating from illness. I would like to be able to focus on a book, game, or show. Even so, I am privileged to have PTO, and call in sick. I have had jobs where I would be at work like this, and what’s worse is that it’s usually jobs where illness is a public hazard.

Day 27 (1,434 remain) I’m dysfunctionally sick today. Somehow both a pool of stagnant, mucus, and also a science fair volcano of snot. Aching head and body, chills, fever, cough. I feel like a NyQuil ad. This misery is temporary (all things are). Add a day on the left, and minus one on the right.

Day 26 (1,435 remain) It might be best to start playing Yakkity Sax under all news coverage of the current administration, to underscore their deeply ridiculous buffoonery and criminal malfeasance with the best possible soundtrack. Let fans have their polished turd, with all due pomp and ceremony.

Day 25 (1,436 remain) Loving each other isn’t just ‘something nice to do’, or ‘a sweet thing to teach children’, it’s imperative. Survival of the Fittest isn’t limited to running and lifting. Empathy and compassion aren’t weaknesses, they allow us to work together. No one is as strong as everyone.

The National Park Service has removed "T" and all mention of transgender people from the Stonewall National Monument. Trans women were some of the most influential activists behind the Stonewall movement and what followed. 3 articles of clothing laws were why raids happened. Erasure.

Day 24 (1,437 remain) What kind of art will remember this time? What will we see reflected in photos, paintings, books? What will this look like in the mirror of hindsight, on television and in movies? Maybe they already exist, in the rubble of other fallen tyrants. What is certain is difference.

Day 23 (1,438 remain) New playlist. What songs would you add? William Tell - Ken Theriot “Never bow to a tyrant…” The Internationale - Billy Bragg “Freedom is merely privilege extended, unless enjoyed by one and all.” It’s Okay To Punch Nаzis - Cheap Perfume “Now they’re called the Alt-Right!”
