The most intriguing thing about the new Onimusha trailer is the use of environmental objects in combat. I'm not sure how prevalent it'll be in combat (definitely won't be relevant for boss fights), but I'm glad we're getting the Samurai Western successor that absolutely nobody asked for.

Biggest takeaway from State of Play isn't homogenized gameplay, but that most of these devs/publishers are terrible at making good trailers. They're sizzle reels with dialogue that vaguely suggests at a plot! This might be the actual lasting bad influence that Souls games have had on the industry.
