The Democratic Party as we know it needs to be dismantled. Maybe a new coalition can rise from the ashes, but it's so abundantly clear that they aren't built to meet this moment.

May you find some joy today. The same kind of joy our girl, Stevie Nicks Starr, finds in looking out the window from her favorite chair.

Haven't listened to this much Death Grips since 2015. Idk what that means, but I feel like it means something.

Daily reminder that rich people aren't people.

It was getting to a point where I was beginning to wonder if we'd ever have snow in the North Carolina triangle again, but now the good stuff is coming down and there are several fat cardinals in our tree. In a world gone to shit, it's the little things.

I know that asteroid probably won't hit the earth after all, but if we bribe it will it change its mind?

My state senate is debating a bill that would limit the amount of medical procedures insurance providers are required to cover, and this is the lead sponsor's justification. We are being governed by Christofascist lunacy.

This app is the digital incarnation of Pink Floyd's song, "Is There Anybody Out There?"

Been making excuses all week to drive so I can go ~7 mph over the speed limit and listen to the new Weeknd. Self-destructive boys, we back.

You ever just feel like being shot out of a cannon?

Imagine being held legally accountable for anything after today.

Is there anything better you can do for your mental health than listen to pulldrone on full volume first thing in the morning until you induce a panic attack?

For my money, Major League is the greatest sports movie ever made. Bob Uecker was a big reason why.

The pizzagate guy was shot dead in my hometown.

New Ethel, it's time to get in formation.

The only thing, and I mean the only thing, that's good about the first couple of weeks after Christmas is the return of Drag Race

Not sure if I would have made it through this year without NC State's run to the Final Four and Kendrick's annihilation of Drake.

Anybody else regret it anytime they leave the house? Went to a local production of A Christmas Carol, and this family behind us talked through the entire first act. We moved to a new section after intermission, and within the first five minutes this dude on the row in front of us ripped ass.

If someone were to ask for my most valuable writing advice, I'd give them these three tips: -Coffee. Drink it until you're scared to stop typing. -Editing. Don't stop until the very thought of reading a piece again makes you physically ill. -OCD. Have it. (This one's the most important)

If you're like me, and you've lost both parents who really went the extra mile to make the holidays special for you, don't listen to "Christmas Memories" by Alabama unless you want to boohoo.

Dinner with me? I can't cancel that again.

Listening to the king. (Don't judge the dust)

Don't have Spotify or Apple Music, but these were the dozen or so albums, in no particular order, I fucked with most this year.

When Stevie was 3 months old, she lost her big sister, a 13-year-old corgi. Now, it seems like every time she goes to daycare, she makes friends with...a corgi. Dogs, man.

Somehow managed to never read The Stranger before now, but it's real good, and this part made me laugh harder than it should have.

I have rendered my verdict for Gladiator II: Shit was corny, y'all.

Don't sweat the mass exodus of journalists if you're still on Twitter, I'm sure PopScoop©®™ and ImDefinitelyNotABot38923 will have you covered.

Struggling to get traction here, which doesn't surprise me given how I've struggled to get traction anywhere else. But at least there's plenty of cat and Muppet content to go around.

My fourth book, a collection of short stories entitled 'american bastard,' is coming from April Gloaming in November (tentatively) of next year. I promise I'm gonna be really, really annoying about this between now and then, but for now, I'll simply say stay tuned.

We don't need more remakes of old movies. We need more MUPPETS remakes of old movies.

Finally got around to organizing most of my published work to date into a Linktree. It ain't much, but it's honest work. I write essays and short stories and books. Sometimes horror, most times not. Regardless of the form, my work leans heavily on the South. Y'all check it out. linktr.ee/mgstarr919

I learned a valuable lesson last week: It's probably better to just not have heroes.

Thought I'd stop screaming into the void on Twitter and start screaming into the void on here.
