Happy Easter from me, who celebrates. I'm making ribs for the family today. I hadn't bought Costco pork ribs before, I assumed by weight there were two slabs in the pack but no. Three. I am now committed to making three slabs of ribs. (Too big to freeze out of the package.)

This was one of my first paintings on toned watercolor paper, and it's still one of my favorite things I've made! I loved the plates on this dragon's snout so much I also gave them to Finch when I redesigned him later. Grumpy (2022)

If anyone asks you if you're going to a protest* your only response should be to ask if they're a cop. Do not. Do NOT. Answer that question. And don't ask that question random well meaning guy, especially on public social media, come on. (*Yes I've seen this happen multiple times.)

Still struggling with just how avoidable this was, and how the years of warnings were ignored. At this point it feels as it will still get much worse before it gets better, so a key challenge now is to imagine then work towards a world beyond the horror of the present. That’s my aim, at least.

Been feeling pretty lousy last couple of days. I had to stay in bed most of yesterday with my terrible heating pad (it stays hot for five minutes and quits, for safety I think but five minutes?!?). Hopefully I can get some inking done today. And I still haven't played with my new brush yet.
