I was supposed to be a lot of things. Currently I'm a disability advocate, and I use fiber arts and audiobooks to cope with the weight of things I can't fix.

I was having trouble with the idea of quitting Goodreads because I have been using it for so many years. I just noticed the read dates are gone for a bunch of my books and they are in "to read". Defeats the point. I used Storyworth in 23 and I'm back now. It's so much better #booksky #storyworth

The Native American Disability Law Center is an organization that advocates for the legal rights of Native Americans with disabilities. Check out their website for resources and information:

I saw Caribbean mythology and I had to check it out. #booksky

It's happened a few times, I don't judge #booksky #ireadwhatiwant

Leonard Peltier has been imprisoned since 1976. Allow him the dignity to live his remaining years with his family. Even the U.S. Attorney who put him there agrees. President Biden should grant him clemency.

This has been on my list for a long time. It was a good day to start it. It was a cool surprise to find out the audiobook was narrated by Gary Farmer, who was in from Reservation Dogs. #booksky #currentread

I don't know if it's resistance to change, but I don't like this Everand plan restructuring. Every time you look something up and it turns out to be a premium title, you are tempted to upgrade your plan and you can't switch back. Yes, I use a library app too. #booksky #everand #audiobooks

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.

There are healthcare subsidies set to expire next year. This bill in the Senate would make them permanent. Please contact your senator and tell them if you care about healthcare protections. www.congress.gov/bill/118th-c... #advocacy #healthcare #disabilityjustice

Well this is exciting. National Book Awards ceremony is tomorrow night and there's a stream! #booksky #nationalbookawards #bookwormoscars www.nationalbook.org/awards2024/?...

#DisabilityTax “The reality is that it is expensive to be disabled. Research shows that disabled people need at least 28% more income, at least $17,690, to achieve a standard of living similar to that of non-disabled people.” www.theguardian.com/wellness/202...

I do like seeing the "20 books that stayed with you" challenge, but I feel like I'm missing information because I want to know what part was significant. I'm nervous to do it myself because 20 days in a row feels like something I will likely fail. Executive functioning is like the muse sometimes.

I like this one better than the 20 books. I don't know blasphemous knave but we share two authors Octavia E. Butler N. K. Jemisin David Sedaris Joe Abercrombie Robin Hobb

I picked this up and I thought it's Isabel Allende, it's not going to be bad. Then I saw the bad reviews. I agree it's not her best but considering it's outside her usual, it's quite good so far, 70% in. She writes teens way more realistically than Steven King. #booksky #books #crime #fiction

This is a book that more people should know about. #booksky #autistic #neurodiversity us.jkp.com/products/i-w...

I was thinking if I crochet a cap sleeve sweater in malabrigo sock, maybe it won't be too warm to wear. I guess I run too hot to wear any pullover now. I'll wait until it gets colder and go back to making things for the kids. 🧶 #crochet #malabrigo #yarn

Apropos of nothing, I wrote a whole book explaining how the autism anti-vaccine panic was rooted in a fear of autism. That allowed cranks like RFK Jr. to thrive and prey off of parents of #ActuallyAutistic children's fears. www.harpercollins.com/products/wer...

I hope I'm doing this right 😬

This is what I'm currently reading. It's a pretty accessible crash course in gynecology and it's inclusive.
