It's your turn to roll! The bottom one is my current favourite D20. Do you have a favourite die?

Since we're clearly living in the darkest timeline, I've returned to black.

My 2025 energy. No matter what.

The Notorious BFG. Is that anything?

Whatever the devil damn well pleases, I suppose.

The Diana Jones Award is a prize for ‘excellence in gaming’. It is named after ‘The Adventures of Indiana Jones Role-Playing Game’ that was a flop in the 1980s and whose unsold copies were burned. The only legible part of the very last copy after the burning was ‘...diana Jones'.

If only bad people were also bad artists...

Not at all surprised

Word of the Day is ‘uhtcearu’ [ucht-kay-aru, with the 'ch' as in the Scottish ‘loch']: Old English for ‘the sorrow before dawn', when you lie awake in the darkness and worries crowd your mind.

hmm this small town seems nice and friendly but i'm starting to think there's a darkness underneath

Robert Eggers' Nosferatu nails the tond and ambience of pure gothic horror. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. We're all agreed that it is a Christmas movie, though, right?

Will I understand the plot of Nosferatu if I haven't seen Nosferaone?

If Elongated Muskrat ever played D&D, you know he's be a 'that guy,' trying to 'win' and ruining it for everyone else.

Season's greetings, Bluesy.

IDK who needs to hear this, but you're allowed to like one part of a band's discography and not the other. You don't have to know the whole history of a band to be a fan. You can just simply LIKE the music. You don't need to know names of every album or song or band member. You can just LIKE music.

This is 'How to Avoid Huge Ships' all over again...

Good Evening. For your consideration, here is Christopher Lee reading you a ghost story while sitting by the fire. youtu.be/aayKKCihuiU?...

I meant to tidy the house today but I've accidentally just looked at my phone for 8 hours instead. Hate it when that happens.

The real problem of This

I really needed to read this today. I hate my work 99% of the time, but maybe I need to take a step back. Maybe only 98% of it is bad.

As the festive season is upon us, reminder that Return of the Jedi is essential viewing: 1. Trees with lights 2. Cosy fires 3. Red & green 4. Ho ho ho

Cop #1: Hey Sarge, looks like we've got another computer programmer dead in his shower. Cop #2: DAMMIT. When will these shampoo companies realise that "lather, rinse, repeat" is an infinite loop!?

Be ready for the undead horse rap battler.

I decided to give ChatGPT a try, to see what all the fuss is about. Its responses were staggeringly vivid and realistic. But there was something slightly off too. The uncanny valley of prose. I couldn't put my finger on it until I read this passage from Soul Music (Terry Pratchett, Discworld #16).

Do you want to build a snowman, you MONSTER??

On Fairy-Stories is essential reading to understanding Tolkien. It is also a great argument on why escapism and wonder are essential to the human condition.
