In the middle of a drought and this is the first sign of rain in the sky I've seen for a good 6 months! Too bad none of it reached us. But it's a start. Hopefully only a week or two away from breaking rains. *fingers crossed*

First draft essay on the Deposition of Frederick II promoted by Pope Innocent IV finally complete.... it's only taken alllll day. πŸ₯΄ Due on Friday, so let's see if I can somehow whittle it down to 1000 words and actually make it sound like I have some coherent understanding of the subject.

Last night's little art session with my favourites produced this watercolour and wash of cray boats at the Coffin Bay jetty. I have so many childhood memories of climbing up and down my families cray boats as they unloaded their latest catches or helping load the groceries for the next trip! #art

I hope NASA at least waits until Suni Williams is home safe before erasing all mention of her from their website

How awesome was it to see NASA Astronaut Suni Williams and her other crew members splash down today? Honestly, this woman is an inspiration, I hope she recovers quickly, and I can soon hear some in depth chats with her about how her time in space was. Photo Credit: (NASA/Keegan Barber)

I had day surgery yesterday to deal with women's stuff. First time I've been under anaesthetic since I was like 10. The hospital staff were fantastic, except it was an extremely vulnerable experience. Came out with some good pain meds though :)

Hey New Russia, remember this? Maybe Putin will be wanting Alaska back next? πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

For the first time in a long time, I've hoped there is actually a hell, so Trump and Vance can burn in it. That interview was disgusting. Congratulations, New Russia! The wealthy will rejoice, and your working class and minorities will pay. Look at the bed you made. #IStandWithUkraine πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

During tonight's uni lecture (modern history), I was reminded that during scary times, it's important to remember that history is constantly changing. And to be reminded tonight how quickly things can & likely, WILL change, gave me back that little spark I hold for a more inclusive and kinder world.

Are you on Goodreads? Feel free to follow me & share opinions on the books we're currently reading! I tend to leave reviews for most books I read and love the opportunities to discuss them with others! I read mostly thrillers, romances and sci-fi :) #booksky www.goodreads.com/user/show/48...

Finishing up Dennis E. Taylor's 'All These Worlds' audiobook (narrated by the fantastic Ray Porter). I'm not sure why I thought this was the final book in the Bobiverse series, but it appears there's at least another two. I'm not sure how I feel about that, as I feel like it's getting a little tired

I know I'm not the only one thinking it, but the world would be a much better place without 3 certain "leaders" at the moment. It's only a matter of time before I won't be able to travel again. :(

Everything is parched. Dry bones. Bare. Gritty, dry soil that stains bare feet. Thirsty.

Last night's Pen and Wash of the Calanais Stones on Isle of Lewis, time go buy a frame for hanging.

The joys of getting old πŸ˜…

Made a pear and custard pie today, was a little bit delicious with a big dollop of cream. It's a good thing I'm starting my running app program tomorrow morning 🀣😬

Watched 2002's Signs for the first time in years tonight. Aside from the ending, I was reminded of just how brilliant the thriller genre can be. Personally, I think it'd make a brilliant stage production. Can you imagine aliens turning up in the middle of the audience suddenly. I'd shit myself. 🀣

Yellow Pixie One of my photos of Miss Emma wearing this gorgeously yellow dress. When I saw the dress I knew I had to photograph it 😍

Yesterday, I ran a creative portraits workshop, which I was so nervous about, but ended up having an amazing time. My two little model assistants helped me show some lovely ladies how it was done, and we ended up thoroughly enjoying the experience and the day.

Holding my first (and possibly only!) posing and creative portrait workshop today. Imposter syndrome really makes things more difficult than it needs to be. Here's to no sleep and a day of running on coffee! πŸ€ͺ😬🀣

Fig paste to be made this weekend! Yum!

Sunny afternoon's by the wharf. #PortLincoln #EyrePeninsula

Tonight's dinner included homemade tomato soup and sourdough bread while stepping out of my comfort zone and painting the Yellow-tailed Blackl Cockatoo, now nearly extinct in our region of South Australia. 😒

Is it holiday time again yet?

Definitely.

I've been very lucky to be able to grow some of my own produce this year. So far, I've been able to make: -Tomato sauce -Sun-dried tomatos -Pasta Sauce -Tomato soup -Apricot jam -Plum jam -Apple and Rhubarb crumble -Apple custard tarts -Fig paste Now, how does one grow a money tree?

First ever drone flight over a dry and sun-parched land.

Still the best Tudor joke I've heard. What's yours?

Its 1998 and you've just borded a plane for your first solo travel adventure at 15. AFS Exchange, WI, USA

WHO DID THIS!

Perfect way to end a weekend of summer holidays. #eyrepeninsula ##southaustralia

Nearly had an altercation with a local yesterday. We both surprised each other and stood stock still for about 2 mins while we assessed the situation. I'm sure I could have beaten her in a fight if it came to it (actually, no) but ya never know with these giant rabbits. Some of them are vicious. πŸ˜†

There's something about being holidays when you're up early (surprise surprise) and get to go for a nice stroll along the coast to the local coffee cart for a latte and a cheesy toastie. It's made even better when you run into friends with the same idea and they have the cutest two-year-old πŸ’“

Honestly, what a way to end the day. πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ» #coffinbay #SouthAustralia

Honestly, the best start to a long weekend. While I personally don't acknowledge Australia Day as a celebration on the 26th, I do enjoy the chance to refresh my soul in this beautiful country. #ILiveOnIndigenousLands #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

Ah, the nostalgia! #showingmyage

I think it's a bit big.... said no one ever.... 🀣🀣 #johndeere #yousaiditnotme

Honestly, homemade fresh tomato soup with crusty white buttered bread is my comfort food! So fucking good! 🀀 #goodsoup #homegrown #delicious

So I've nearly finished Fellowship of the Ring narrated by Andy Serkis. Which audiobook to start next? All These Worlds by Dennis E. Taylor (narrated by Ray Porter) or Fear the Sky by Stephen Moss (narrated by R.C. Bray)? #booksky πŸ“šπŸ’™ #audiobooks #rayporter

Yep, I'm definitely an "Outsidey" person. I'm not keen on going to the loo in the wilderness!
