Heading to DC today. Anyone heading to their state capitol?

Protests Tuesday at 5 and Wednesday at 11:30 in DC. Check them out. Wednesday’s might have satellite protests in other cities.

February 1. Just one short month to go. March feels like the light at the end of the tunnel.

I want to stress something important. I know about the Times’ owner, and his interference in the Ed page (and maybe more). But without the LAT, you would only know what the White House told you about this. Support journalists and journalism. www.latimes.com/environment/...

Had a great day today. Ignored news and had lunch with an old friend and hosted a neighborhood gathering to introduce everyone to a candidate for town council. I’m trying to keep myself sane by keeping busy. Wish me luck.

To recap, Trump: -Forced out the FAA chief at Musk's insistence -Imposed a hiring freeze that reportedly included air traffic controllers -Fired the TSA head and gutted a key aviation safety committee -Blamed the DCA crash on DEI This is disastrous leadership.

Many thanks to Alison Luterman for sending me her poem. I wanted to share it with you all. robertreich.substack.com/p/praise-the...

Had a great time today with friends. Getting out and about on a regular basis in January and February is a must.

The only thing more dangerous than a vengeful president is an opposition that’s too despondent to fight back. “There won’t be an election in 4 years.” Oh really? Please. You don’t know what will happen tomorrow.

I’m off FB for the week. Anyone joining me?

Tonight at the movie theater I saw the National Theatre Live production of Vanya with Andrew Scot. It was great and reminded me that I saw Christopher Walken in Uncle Vanya at the ART’s Hasty Pudding Theater in Cambridge, MA in the 1980s. Wow. americanrepertorytheater.org/shows-events...

Friends sent me this beautiful bouquet. Sure brightens up cold dark winter days.

Perfect day for making ginger bread. Yum!
