I just attended a conference in the US. We had one speaker detained and two others turned away at the border.

Instead, the most likely outcome is the story gets lost amid an ever-growing number of ever-more-outrageous scandals with each passing week, until years go by and it's all been normalized

SONG OF THE DAY: If the Weezer spouse shooting at the cops story is getting you down, here’s an alternative song about sweater-based subject matter featuring @quadbasspickup.bsky.social on vocals paintedrecords.bandcamp.com/track/this-o...

Wish me luck

Incredible stuff.

ALBUM OF THE DAY: compelling guitar-based noise. This album expertly balances tonal clanging with atonal textures and squelches. The band demonstrates a great understanding of pacing and density: individual noise elements shine through rather than disappearing into a wall of unintelligible sound.

Twenty years ago I had a solo noise project called Shit Cook. Lately, I’ve been thinking about putting out a new album. Here’s my release from 2005. chikwhite.bandcamp.com/album/shit-c...

I’m looking for the weirdest bands on Bluesky. Where are you at?

Thanks for the awesome review! This is one of my favorite pieces of music that I’ve been involved with.

I guess @atroopofechoes.bsky.social is on here but doesn’t appear to use their account

SONG OF THE DAY: “The Great Divide” feels like standing underneath a waterfall — it just keeps washing over you. The guitar is beautiful and sinewy. The saxophone, lithe and sonorous. The bass throbs with lush harmony. The drums punch away with continuously evolving parts, powerful and intricate.

One of the best radio programs currently airing.

A Troop of Echoes has entered the chat

Gritty. Glitchy. Atmospheric. Dissonant. Textural. Throbbing. Groovy. Experimental. This album of catchy, propulsive soundscapes constructed entirely through drums processed with a variety of audio effects is exactly what the curious ear craves. medium.com/@ingeniireco...

Hey, we’re on Bluesky now. Nice to be here.

We won’t say there’s something for everyone on here, because there isn’t. This music can be extremely abrasive and challenging. This shit is dissonant and complex and repetitive and facemelting at times. But there is also something cathartic and beautiful about everything here.
