USA, Inc.

It’s not Apple Intelligence until it knows I’m going to text STOP

Some 40 years ago I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I read in a piece in the New York Review how the USSR's Glavlit had ordered a marine biology PhD thesis on colonial polyps to remove the word "colonial" because it wasn't nice to call polyps colonial.

starting to believe that the people who campaigned to usher in a millennia of white supremacist fascist oligarchy were not as committed to the principle of free speech as the media had led voters to believe

Enrage conservatives with this one simple trick

1000% They have tried to make DEI an epithet and strangely synonymous with lowering the bar. Don’t give them this.

If you judge by the number of stories, the number of authors involved, the tone, the duration of coverage ... you can't help but conclude that the NYT found the fact that Biden is old much more alarming than the fact that an unelected tech nazi is illegally taking over key government systems.

I am always so tickled when the sun, hitting a few solar panels on my roof, can easily bake my bread.

Why I’m proud to be from Cincinnati

Silicon Valley doesn’t care about tariffs on coffee. But tariff ketamine and all bets will be off.

I’ve been busy with life stuff so allowed myself to write poorly about the anti-DEI movement. More to follow, hopefully better written next time: www.linkedin.com/posts/innona...

Great to see! Because there are often more than one HP per building (but usually just one furnace), it would be really interesting to see how they compare in terms of installed capacity. Does that exist, #energysky?

“Heat pumps just keep getting hotter. The über-efficient, emissions-free appliance looks almost certain to have outsold gas furnaces in 2024 — and by a bigger margin than ever.” ⚡️🙌🏻🔌💡https://www.canarymedia.com/articles/heat-pumps/heat-pumps-keep-widening-their-lead-on-gas-furnaces

Her memory will always be a blessing.

"I come to say to you this afternoon, however difficult the moment, however frustrating the hour, it will not be long...The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice."

Starter Packs are a genius feature and really help with onboarding but do we all follow too many people now? I have so much less engagement with friends on #Bluesky (me to them, them to me) post-Starter Pack explosion. Too much of a good thing too quickly can hurt product usefulness.

Curmudgeony take: I’d be happy if YouTube superseded TikTok because YouTube does a great job of linking Shorts to long-form content. Instead of letting short-form videos rot our brains, it serves as a discovery mechanism for more enriching content.

Yes and they idolize porn bsky.app/profile/inno... cc @volts.wtf @jamellebouie.net

I don’t think we talk enough about how badly free porn sites have infected the brains of millennial men. They’ve lost the ability to separate real from fake, and collectively idolize the fake because they are afraid of what they are with the lights turned on.

We took 100+ hours of footage of Lexington Ave in Manhattan, capturing some 75,000 vehicles before and after congestion pricing started, and found the drop in vehicles appears to be coming entirely from fewer personal cars. Also no change in avg car value. Congestion pricing is working (for now).

I made Irish soda bread yesterday. Eww why is this a thing? Baking soda is a scab. I’ll let yeast do the work from here on!

Carbon tax next
