What with this, that, and the other, I'm fully in support of this modification to the map. Make it so!

Conjunction of Moon and Mars On February 9, 2025, Mars had a close encounter with the Moon, practically touching its edge. Here it is before (19:53 CET), during (20:12 CET), and after (20:26 CET) closest approach. 📷 Nikon D7200 + Nikkor 70-300mm, 300mm, 1/100s, f/11, ISO 100, 09-Feb-2025

I may not be perfect, but at least I'm both able and willing to return my shopping cart to its proper place.

I find the vast numbers of so called Christians who declare that compassion is a sin against God, and that empathy is a weapon of Satan, rather disturbing.

Compassion first, always. After that, it matters less—or even not at all—which deity you do or do not believe in.

Nazi or Roman? Anyone with two brain cells and a trace amount of social awareness would know that 99.99% of everyone would see that as a Nazi salute, and refrain from using it unless that was exactly what they meant.

What annoys me second most about missing the train home today is that because as I hurried to try to catch it I hurried past at least half a dozen decent photo motifs that are now confined to a fading blur of memory instead of a memory card.

Due to popular demand (well, *one* person asked), here's a glasses-less version of my most recent selfie, along with the original, and a bonus one of my first ever meeting with a Candy Corn (with heartfelt thanks to our friends in Texas who thought it was about time).

My log does not judge. It's not even my log. 📷 Nikon D7200, Nikkor 35mm, 1/500s, f/2.8, ISO 900, 22-Dec-2024

Lilo would just like to mention that I haven't been posting enough pictures of her lately, so here's a picture of her giving her “I don't think you've posted enough pictures of me lately” look. And just as I'm typing this she fell asleep, curled up against me, and is snoring her little heart out.

Wiggle yo' butt, and scratch dat itch. 📷 Nikon D7200, Nikkor 70-300mm at 300mm, 1/500s, f/5.6, ISO 400, 26-May-2022

Still shaking the bug that ambushed me on the third day of Christmas, so here's a selfie I took the day before, while I was still a-bouncing and a-glow with childish mirth and good health. (I love how wearing strong glasses makes my eyes ⅔ their actual size, like tiny peepholes in a meat mask.)

Starting 2025 with a small herd of goats in a row, just because I can. The recipe calls for ducks, but they were otherwise engaged. 🗓️ 09-jun-2022 📷 Nikon D7200, Nikkor 35m, 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 1000

Down with flu this new years, so I'll keep this simple. 🌟 🌟 BEST OF LUCK TO ALL IN 2025 🌟 🌟 May the Force be forever in your favour, points and honour awarded according to your house, and never cross the streams after midnight 😊

My five day old throat infection has now done my voice in to the point where, if I tried to sing “Streets of London”, Roger Whittaker himself would rise from the dead and slap me silly to make me stop.

Happy darkest, shortest day of the year to everyone. Or brightest, longest day of the year if you're antipodal. Or same as any other day if you're equatorial 😊 #wintersolstice

The full moon playing second fiddle to a street lamp. … 📷 Nikon D7200, Nikkor 18-140mm, 105mm, 1/250s, f/8, ISO 500, 16-Dec-2024 #moon #fullmoon #streetlamp #lights #illumination #night #nightphotography #16dec2024

Post a bunch of photos, hardly anyone bats an eye. Follow @markhamillofficial.bsky.social, and suddenly there's an influx of likes and follows. Thanks, Luke 😉

First batch of negatives straight off of the scanner, only minor exposure adjustments and sharpening. The camera has a light leak which is lending an, uh, artistic touch to some of the shots. I will pretend that it's intentional. 📷 Minolta XG1 + Minolta 50mm f/2 🎞️ Fujifilm Superia X-tra 400

Wall art in Strömstad, Sweden, as seen from Café Orient with a big lens. There are a few of these murals in Strömstad. We saw at least three, but we didn't take the time to look very hard. Yes, there's a Norwegian flag. No, I don't know why.

My Nikon sees all different kinds of things. From itself in a Seoul taxi's rear view mirror, to autumn in the hands of the child next door. I'm just lucky to be along for the ride. Where does your camera take you?

Perhaps it's my echo chamber reverberating in the aftermath of recent events, but I do get a *lot* of Americans posting about wanting to escape to Norway. I wish I could help, but all available guest space in our household, and that of family and friends, is already spoken for several times over.

🐶 Woke up early, had to pee, woke up dad and we went for a wee walk. Waaay too early, so catching up with a nap on the couch seemed like a good idea. So nice to lie here and listen to daddy's tummy rumble whilst making sure he can't get up to have breakfast or anything.

There is no vember like November

Just putting this out there so that we're clear on this: Donald Trump is not, has never been, and never will be my president.

Chillin' with ma bois on a cold and snowy day on Sakhal, which could be any day because it's always cold and snowy on Sakhal. #DayZ #DayZFrostline

I always type twitter dot com when I open that site. Typing x dot com feels like I'm going to a porn site, and that sets entirely the wrong kind of vibe for the occasion. Yes, I'm still there, just a little bit, for now.

I'm not saying that it tastes *better*, but the tea does indeed taste a bit *different* after you've washed off all the sediment that has been building up in the mug over the last few weeks.

I just felled my first reindeer on Sakhal! It was constantly on the move, so when I finally caught up with it I was starved, dehydrated, cold, and lost, and barely made it back alive. #DayZ #gaming #Sakhal

“Species” (1995) sci-fi, horror. ★★☆☆☆ [Spoilers] What killed it for me was the idea that the Arecibo Message sent in 1974 would receive a reply in 1993, when the target (Messier 80) is 30,000 light years away. It felt like watching an Asylum movie, so I turned it off like 20 minutes in.

I was that kid in the late 70s and early 80s, and I've seen this change in narrative build up gradually with the rising popularity and proliferation of #dinosaur movies, beginning with the first Jurassic Park in 1993. It is as if #creationism is trying to #evolve.

Facebook Marketplace tells me that I should be interested in purchasing a tractor. While it is true that I'm in the market for a new vehicle, I am not entirely convinced that a piece of farming equipment will be the right choice as our next family car.

Well, that doesn't happen a lot. If ever it would occur, upon me randomly waving my clunky old analogue around in a train station as in an attempt to look like I know what I'm doing, that someone should exclaim in my direction “Oh my God! Is that a Minolta?”, then this is that day.
