I will always give a side eye when viz doesn’t put shoujo series under shoujo beat, especially series that may break a few stereotypes of “what shoujo is”… 🤨 The only upside is them adding more unique details to the physical volume (like in Ooku & Children of the Whales)

I really like the contrast between what Soowon learns about Yona & Hak through his betrayal. He witnesses Yona’s strength, but with Hak he sees his weakness. Hak w/his inability to control his anger & Yona’s growth shows him that it’s not that she couldn’t but wasn’t allowed to!

My Girlfriend’s Child is amazing, even smaller details/additions really make this story as beautiful as it is! In her old school where she dealt w/bullying a sad face is stained on the walls, but in this different more accommodating school there’s a similar stain with a smile!
