Tonight, a federal judge permanently blocked President Trump's executive order that targeted the law firm Perkins Coie, ruling the order was unconstitutional. This Sunday, Scott Pelley reports on why the president is targeting law firms that he says "did bad things" and "went after" him.

I think they might be the most commercially successful on the lineup, which means they likely inked a very profitable deal. Isn’t it ironic, as another Cdn artist would say…

This was highly cringe, but I appreciated the moment in the related IG post where JT admits he doesn’t “do” socials, which means he has been oblivious to years of abuse. Good for him.

I spoke with UN Secretary-General António Guterres today. In this time of rising conflict, Canada is ready to lead. We will build coalitions, defend democracy, and stand up for our values on the world stage. As others step back from global leadership, Canada is stepping up.

Everyone watching Pierre Poilievre eat absolute shit in Carleton and respecting Canada's bilingual culture.

That sound you hear is a few thousand nerds constantly hitting refresh on the Carleton riding results

Given likely loss of Poilievre in Carleton (TY to the good people of Carleton!!), I think Stornaway should be considered for Carney as an official residence. Housing allowance for leader of opposition. AND FIX 24 SUSSEX!

I’ve always appreciated that Jagmeet Singh talks more like a normal human being than most people in his position. That applies tonight as well.

Watching Jamil Jivani (CPC) rip Doug Ford a new one after he won his seat is the interview of the night.

With all sincerity, Elections Canada is a national treasure. - Voting typically takes less than 15 minutes - We make it easy for citizens to vote, without cumbersome registration hurdles - We have every reason to trust that ballots will be counted fairly, and results reported swiftly

Trump becomes the first American president to lose a Canadian election

And now, a note on Bill Owens who, until this past week, was the executive producer of 60 Minutes. We’ll be back next week with another edition of 60 Minutes.

It’s e-day in Canada, or as they call it up here: Denim Conclave. When the BC bud smoke is seen coming out of the garage, a new prime minister has been picked.

For Americans: a Canadian election primer. Butter tarts — raisins, pecans, neither? LIB: A butter tart is a butter tart is a butter tart. CON: Start the Tart NDP: *rolls out Universal Basic Butter Tart program* BQ: Canada's tarts are not real tarts GREEN: Vegan tarts, no butter

Check out how the anchors of CBS Evening News ended their broadcast tonight:

I invented a new phone to help save time in the morning

This should have been managed better. Footage confirms what yokels Rebel News are.

Carney finally got a good jab in… about Poilievre wishing he was running against Trudeau. #debate2025

Carney needs to read @adamgrant.bsky.social , and drop the small points but spend more time on the big ones. #debate2025

English language PM Debate: I am intrigued by the black suit and black tie, or navy suit and navy tie by the three anglophone PM candidates. Does Blanchet standout or look outdated? Thoughts @dieworkwear.bsky.social ?

The administration that called Canada “the 51st state” and said “we’re going to get” Greenland is suddenly cowed by sovereignty.

If true, Liberals need to investigate and eject those involved - disgusting. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Looking forward to the day when interprovincial trade barriers are torn down and I can buy dieu cu ciel beer in Toronto. The re explosion of craft beer in Canada as we discover each other’s amazing products is going to make for an incredible summer

I think Mel Brooks once said something like: Tragedy is when I stub my toe, comedy is when you fall in an open sewer and die. By extension, "censorship" is when I can't use racial slurs on a private social media platform; "free speech" is when you get abducted off the street for political opinions.

Canadian media: Artist Christopher Griffin (Ottawa and PEI based) has just left his Artist in Residence position at Atlantic Veterinary College because US professors objected to a painting. He was given the option of taking it down, or leaving. He left. @sproudfoot.bsky.social @seansnmurphy.ca

I tried to write about empathy and ended up writing about fascism again

BMO: “.. The ‘Buy Canadian’ movement is deepening .. We judge that this shift in attitudes could add roughly $10 billion to the Canadian economy annually, lifting growth by 0.3 ppts (+/- 0.2 ppts).” 🇨🇦
